Obama’s Latest Approval Rating (02/19/09)

February 19, 2009

President Obama took office with an approval rating of around 83%, Extremely high. On January 24th the first approval rating for Obama came out and we saw a fifteen point drop down to 68%, a very good number but a number that fell pretty quickly once he became president.

Since that first poll came out President Obama has not had an easy time of it, especially with all of the tax cheats and ethically challenged people he tried to nominate to his cabinet. Then came the stimulus welfare bill which is unpopular with the people. Now the newest approval rating poll is out and his slide downward continues.

According to the Gallup poll, which is the poll that I used back in January his approval rating has sunk to 62%. The Fox News poll and Rasmussen have his approval rating at 60% while the AP poll still has him at 67%. An average of just over 62%.

If the Fox News poll is thrown out because of a perceived bias his average rating rises to 63%. But using the same notion of bias I would offer that the AP poll should also be thrown out bringing his average rating down to 61%.

But this is all semantics, the bottom line is that President Obama’s approval rating continues to slide and while a rating of over 60% is still high it isn’t as high as it was on January 20th and it continues to fall.

George Bush times 2 doesn’t equal the big O’s rating.

No shit, I mentioned that his rating was high. Did you miss that. It is just declining monthly. Those are the numbers, I didn’t make them up. I was not even slamming Obama. I was just noting a pattern.

I find it hard to believe his approval rating was ever at 83%. Who were they polling? MSNBC employees?

Well, for me this is good news. I do think also that it will dip further. Especially when people like Peggy the moocher realizes that Obama is not going to pay all her bills.

I think it is going to steadily fall and I also think we are going to pick up large majorities in 2010. Of course that could be wishful thinking.

I am amazed that his ratings are in the 60’s because I run into very little people who are happy with his spend us into oblivion plan. On the other hand, I think his ratings reflect how in-explainably gaga people are over him.

I have found very few people who approve of him so far either. It has only been a month and he continues to slip. I think many people are still saying they approve of him because they want to give him a chance, they don’t want to abandon him just yet.
