Second Obama Press Conference– Again he Has Pre-Selected Reporters Ask Questions
It was revealed after President Obama’s first press conference that the president had the reporters he would call upon to ask questions pre-selected. This was not supposed to be known but it was leaked out.
Tonight he held his second press conference and this time he didn’t even try to hide the fact that he had already decided who would get to ask the image conscience president questions. After his ten minute speech he opened up the question session by admitting that he had a list of reporters who would ask him questions.
It isn’t too much of a stretch to assume that if he picked the reporters beforehand who would ask the questions that he also knew the questions that would be asked. If so than the fact that he still stuttered his way through thirteen non-answers is baffling. The man stuttered more than President Bush ever did during a press conference and this is supposed to be such an articulate man. When the teleprompter is off it doesn’t matter whether he knows the questions beforehand he still stutters through the questions in an attempt to filibuster.
Tonight the president didn’t answer one tough question, he filibustered. There were a couple of reporters who pressed Obama on his answers and he still didn’t give a straight answer.
The man is all style and no substance and his mask comes off when he doesn’t have prepared answers, to try to curb this problem he pre-selects the reporters that he believes are friendly to ask him the questions.
Tonight not only did the mask came off, Obama took it off himself.

“It isn’t too much of a stretch to assume that if he picked the reporters beforehand who would ask the questions that he also knew the questions that would be asked.”
Um…yes it IS too much of a stretch – are you telling me that the Fox News reporter and the Washington Times reporter he called on (no liberal darlings, they) cleared their questions with the White House first? Ridiculous. And if they were even asked to do that they would have shouted their complaints from the rooftops.
This is another great non-issue ginned up by some of the less creative. Did you see the press conference? There had to be a hundred reporters there, he HAS to pick and choose ahead of time, otherwise he’s going to be randomly saying “Um, you, guy all the way in the back with the yellow tie.” What does it matter if he picks and chooses before or during? Now, show my a bias toward “liberal” outlets, then you can complain.
By the way, did you complain when the Bush Administration actually hired a fake reporter to sit in the press conferences and lob friendly questions at Bush? Of course, the fact the man also turned out to be a former gay male escort was just icing on their cake of evil-meets-incompetence. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_Gannon
And care to site examples of questions he ducked? Granted, I didn’t get to watch the whole conference, but the questions I watched (i.e. stem cells, tax deductions for charitable giving, Israeli peace efforts, and several others) he answered the questions fully.
As for stuttering a bit, that’s what happens when you’re actually thinking about what you’re saying instead of giving pre-recorded sound bites. No one complained about Bush stuttering occasionally, it was the words that came out around the stuttering that was frightening ignorant.

Yes I watched the whole press conference and I am glad you admitted that you didn’t. If you had you wouldn’t need me to provide examples of Obama dodging questions, you would have seen it for yourself. But seeing how you couldn’t be bothered to watch the president I am not going to provide the examples, next time maybe you should actually take the time to listen to the president when he speaks.

Nice of you to avoid almost every point I raised.

Once you admitted that you didn’t watch the press conference I saw no reason to debate you. I disagree with the president on almost every issue but when he gives a press conference or a speech I always find the time to watch.
Besides if this is “another great non-issue ginned up by some of the less creative” why did you come back here to keep the non-issue alive? I am not going to be any more creative than I was the other day, so that can’t be it.

The only thing I like about the press conferance last night was him looking straight ahead all the time and not looking one way and then the other like someone at a tennis match. He was dull and flat—not the great orator. I agree he did fumble through it and dragged out his answers to questions which he probably already knew.

He picked the reporters but I’m not so sure he had the questions in advance. CNN got a mighty frosty look when it was their turn. So did a couple of others.
