President Obama Claims He Didn’t Know Air Force One Was Going To Fly Over Ground Zero
Today the president claimed that he did not know that Air Force One was going to fly at low altitude past the Statue of Liberty and over Ground Zero. He claimed that he found out when we found out, and he has called for an internal investigation into this “mistake”.
I find it hard to believe that a sitting president can lose track of where one of his two planes is scheduled to fly. I find it hard to believe that the president was left in the dark and was not consulted about flying Air Force One over Ground Zero. It is absolutely inconceivable that something like this would be planned without his knowledge.
This decision shows an extreme lack of judgement, caring, and just plain arrogance by the administration which must feel that it can do whatever it wants. I have trouble believing that he is not lying about his involvement in this horrific, and stupid, idea.
But I am a fair man; I am a just man and so I will take the president’s word when he says that he didn’t know what was going on around him within his administration. I will take his word when he says that he was clueless about this fiasco. I will take him at his word that his subordinates were planning this behind his back and that they didn’t find a need to inform him.
So now I ask you which is worse. Did the president know about Air Force One and is he lying about his involvement, or was he clueless about what was going on in his administration right under his nose?
I think the latter would be more egregious than the former.
And just one more question, can you imagine the outrage and condemnation if Bush had lost one of his planes while he was in office?

So omniscience is a requirement for POTUS? Yeah, I would make the same argument for Bush.
I just had a thought… isn’t it Rahm’s job to handle knowing things like this?

Robert Gibbs also hasn’t covered himself in glory over this whole issue. Something just isn’t right in this whole thing.

Are you serious when you said, “I find it hard to believe that a sitting president can lose track of where one of his two planes is scheduled to fly. I find it hard to believe that the president was left in the dark and was not consulted about flying Air Force One over Ground Zero. It is absolutely inconceivable that something like this would be planned without his knowledge. ” Surely you don’t believe your own BS.
With all of the decisions that a U.S. President has to make on a day to day basis, I assure you that Air Force One’s flight path is not one of them. Do you really believe that a guy visits the U.S. president each day and informs him on the day to day operations of his planes?! FYI, the NYC flyover for Air Force photographers. It was the backup plane and approved by the White House military office weeks before. In fact, it was the Air Force’s responsibility to notify local officials. Rest assured the same event would have occurred if McCain had been elected instead of Obama.
Assuming that your comments weren’t made in jest, you’ve shown yourself to both an ignoramus and bad propagandist. Without having to read another of your mindless posts, I can already see that you have the ‘us verses them’ political philosophy. Everything that is associated with the a democratically controlled White House or congress is attacked, while everything the Republican’s do is defended. Instead of the scientific method, you are a post facto rationalist. You’ll never let facts nor reason influence your ‘opinion’.

But I gave him the benefit of the doubt, I said I would take him at his word. I admitted that he had no clue what was going on in his administration.

Has anyone asked yet as to who was on that sight-seeing trip over the big apple. I for one would like to know. Usually these short junkits are packed with selected VIP’s. Has any reporter asked the white house mouth-piece, Gibbs.

There is more to this story than we are being told. I don’t think we will ever know.

Whose idea was it to have the video of AF1 with the Statue of Liberty in the shot? ‘Cause….. um.. that’s kinda in the vicinity of ground zero. What a bunch of idiots. Come on! I would not defend this one if I were an Obamaton.
