Obama Shuns Reporters in Order to Produce Government Run Media Reports

May 22, 2009

The president recently welcomed the NCAA women’s basketball champions to the White House, after the meeting he shot hoops with the team. The media was not allowed to attend.

The president released his own video report of the event, that is why the media was not allowed to attend. This is not the first time that the media was shut out of an event only to have the president release his own government controlled report of the event.

While this story by itself isn’t a big deal we are seeing a slow but sure move by this administration to control what gets released about the administration to the press. It may start out with a benign story about a basketball team but what will be the next story that the administration blocks the press from attending in order to establish a government run propaganda machine?

Once it becomes acceptable to the people for the government to not only silence the media but to also release their own versions of whatever issue comes up we will be entering uncharted waters. There will be no accountability by the administration to the people as the government will control what the people see and hear.

This is only the beginning, once the government controls the media we are in big trouble. This is straight out of Hugo Chavez’s playbook. If you control what information is disseminated to the media and if the only account of what the White House is up to is a government produced media report we are all in trouble.

I admit that in this particular case it is not a big deal but this does set a precedent and who knows in the future what the media will be shut out of in order for the government to produce their own official account.

This is a policy that needs to be stopped NOW before the government has total control over the media.

I guess controlling 90% of the media wasn’t enough- anybody still think he’s not a narcissist? lol

But this isn’t going to work, Americans don’t like this totalitarian stuff- and maybe even eventually the by-then-jilted press will backlash. And Obama and the Dems won’t be able to hide his comprehensive lack of results and dubious ethics by Nov 2010, and face a blood bath in mid-terms- no matter how much jive they lay on us. They can control the perception of reality by some, maybe- but the current policies already implemented are enough it seems to bring failure and political implosion. All the GOP has to do is formulate viable alternatives, resist Obama-NanPo-Reid relentlessly, and allow new GOP leadership to arise naturally.

In the middle of that campaign a year from now we should expect unsettling inflation, a tanked dollar, and persistent unemployment, since he’s attacked almost every job creator in the country with rhetoric, taxes, and threats.

Overseas, it hard not to imagine us getting embarassed by somebody soon, or even God forbid Al Qaida on US Soil- I thought Cheney was awesome in spelling it out the other night. The Obama poll numbers are meaningless, as most people will procrastinate in admitting what a dire and humiliating mistake they made in voting for this madman… and they should feel silly, because they are.

But his support will crumble to a 30-40% hard-core after a major setback or two. I dunno if Obama sold his soul or what, but the guys’ lucky if nothing else- incredibly lucky. But people with extraordinary blessings often start to think they are special, grow to depend on it, and think it will go on like this forever– so are genuinely shocked when their luck finally runs out.

Reality is waiting for Obama around the corner- with a truncheon. And no propaganda efforts or press control is going to be able to hide it.

I do think that if Obama continues to shun the media (which is infatuated with him) they will eventually turn on him. It is curious as to why he is doing this when he has more love and admiration in the media than possibly any president in history. He is going to ruin a good thing. And that is a good thing.
I do like your optimism about an upcoming blood bath in the 2010 elections, I hope that the American people realize what is going on in time for the election.

It just occurred to me–also, with Obama using all this new technology, the internet, twitter, all his websites– he is alienating the seasoned voter. He thinks it is because of younger people that he won? He should know it was much more diversified than that. And of course he is avoiding tough questions, but for me, that is a foregone conclusion. Obama has many layers.

That is a good point. Obama will alienate the older voters by using these new technologies and he will be realying on the younger voters but they don’t cosistantly vote so that could lead to trouble for him. That is where legallizing illegal aliens comes in. They will be replacing the votes that he loses.
