Democrats Silence Republicans on Spending Bills– What Happened to Transparency
In an effort to protect its members from having to vote on tough legislation the Democrat led House of Representatives is not allowing debate on certain issues; such as gay marriage and gun control by restricting amendments to spending bills.
This is being done, and Steny Hoyer has admitted it, so that some Democrats will not have to go on record either for or against any issue that may hurt them politically. I do not have any respect for any politician who is not willing to make a decision because it may hurt them in their upcoming re-election campaign. If a politician does not have the balls to take a stand on an issue he or she should be voted out for that reason alone.
I would respect my representatives more for taking a stand on an issue in which I disagree with the position taken than to have my representative cower in fear behind bureaucratic red tape. But that is what the Democrats are doing.
The hypocritical part of this whole thing is the fact that when Democrats were in the minority they defended this process as vital but now that they are in power they don’t seem to see it in the same light.
This is the party that promised to be open and honest with the American people, this is the party that promised an end to politics as usual yet they are engaged in the very same behavior that they opposed while they were the minority.
What happened to transparency?

I hope they stop using this term soon. The obamatrons probably do not really understand it anyway. He should just say opaque, what difference would it make, really?

There certainly isn’t much transparency in this administration is there? I love how the Obamabots justify this by saying that Bush led the most secretive administration in history. That does not justify Obama’s administration. Obama promised to be transparent, he has broken that promise, it has nothing to do with Bush.
