Man arrested for killing his unborn baby

October 26, 2009

A Los Angeles man has been arrested for killing his unborn baby— a despicable, disgusting, reprehensible crime. There is no worse crime that a man can commit and I hope that he rots in jail for the rest of his life. But this does lead me to ask the question, what if it was the mother who had decided to kill this unborn baby?

It seems to me that thousands of men commit this same crime every day. The only difference is that these men are doctors and they have the permission of the mothers. Thousands of abortions are committed every year under the guise that a woman has control over what she does to her body. The fetus is considered part of a woman’s body, not life, and if she does not want a child she can simply terminate the pregnancy. The fetus is not considered a person in these cases because the fetus can not live outside the womb. Yet this man is charged with murder for committing an act that the mother could perform freely, openly, and without consequence and in some circles is admired.

This is where the questions needs to be asked, how can this be murder in one case yet not in the other? By charging this man with murder aren’t law enforcement officials classifying the fetus as a baby? Doesn’t this now confirm that a fetus is a person? If so than isn’t this an admission that murder of a fetus is acceptable depending who decides to commit the crime?

The motive for the killing is the same, the baby is unwanted. Just because it is the mother who decides to terminate a pregnancy it is not any less tolerable. We cannot have it both ways– either a fetus is a person who deserves the right to life, or the fetus  isn’t and is subjected to the whim of the would be mother.

It does seem like there is a double standard here. If it is murder in one case, then why not the other.

This also brings to mind the Laci Peterson case. Her husband Scott was convicted of first degree murder for killing her and 2nd degree for killing their unborn son. Women’s rights groups were all up in the air about the murder, which was certainly a terrible tragedy. Let me point out however, that some of those same groups would be very quick to say that abortion is not wrong and that the unborn child that is killed during an abortion is not even a human being, but only a fetus. Again, very much of a double standard.

I remember that case, I had the same question then. How can it be muder in one case and not in the other? These pro-choice and womans groups want it both ways.

Men do not have reproductive rights. I thought SCOTUS made that clear back in the early 90s.

I understand why the man is facing charges and I hope he fries, I wasn’t defending his actions. I was trying to make the case that life is life regardless of who wants or has the legal right to end it. I don’t see the fetus as being any less a life because the mother doesn’t want it. In order for the father to commit murder there has to be an admission that there was life there, this is contrary to the argument that many on the pro choice side make. They don’t like to admit there is life there.
That was my point, I probably still am not explaining it properly.

No, Mr. Pinkeyes, I think you explained it just fine. Life is life. If it is murder for a man, it is also murder for a woman. Abortion is murder. Just another double standard that the liberals are trying to pull over on us. “Pro-choice” my hind end, why don’t they just be honest with us and themselves and rename themselves “pro-death”, because that is exactly what they are.

In my draft of this post I actually called them the “pro-death” crowd, but I changed it.

    Mr. Pink Eyes,
You tell it like it is.
I have often thought that the abortion issue could be the end of our country. The pro-life people I know will never reconcile baby murder, and they shouldn’t. They mostly come from a religious standpoint.
Sometimes I think the country would be better off divided into two separate countries, liberal and conservative. Individual states would fall into one group or the other. If a country with the more traditional conservative values proved to be better, then presumably the liberal states from the other side would see it. The world would see it. If the conservatives blew it, then what difference would it make anyway?
In some respects we are already impossibly divided. I think a peaceful dissolution is more in the realm of possibility than a war resulting in the victors being able to force their way on the losers.

That is exactly why I believe in stronger state’s rights, people would be able to move the the state that best represents their ideas.

Unfortunately there is not logical or valid answer to your question. One I have posed over and over. The difference is that women have been brainwashed to believe aborting a child is the better choice. Those of us who have learned the truth know better.

The only answer I have been able to come up with is that the law says it is not murder when women do it under medical supervision. When a man does it, however, the law doesn’t protect him.

Another confusing part to the abortion position is several cases where teenage girls have left the newly born children in closets, toilets, etc. They have been charged. Again, what is the difference? Doctors are aborting/killing babies after they are born as well.

And Obama wouldn’t vote to save babies who were born alive after a failed abortion.

Why is it considered murder when he killed the baby and not considered murder when a mother does it??? I dont understand, a child in or out of the whom is considered a person. Abortion should be 100% illegal. Thats a life inside of a women and should not be killed!!!
