Janet Napolitano on the Flight 253 terror attack: “The system worked”
When Janet Napolitano was asked about the attempted terrorist attack aboard Northwest Flight 253 being thwarted she responded,”the system worked.”
What!? Really!? The system worked? I guess the system under this administration and Homeland Security must be for a terrorist to be allowed to board a plane with a bomb and let the passengers diffuse the situation, because that is exactly what happened in this situation.
There was no marshal on board this plane and if it weren’t for a malfunction in the fusing mechanism, this bomb would have exploded and killed everyone on board. The terrorist may have still been able to set off the bomb if it weren’t for the quick actions of the heroes that were on board this plane. So don’t sit there and tell America that the system worked, the system failed and America was very lucky that the second terror attack on Barack Obama’s watch was a failure, unlike the first.
When asked how the would be terrorist was allowed to board a plane with liquid explosives she responded,”We’re asking the same questions.” That’s nice, but this attempted attack should have been foiled before the terrorist was ever allowed to board the plane.
For Janet Napolitano to go on CNN and tell the country that the fact that the passengers thwarted a terrorist attack that the system almost allowed to take place, is proof that the system works is nothing more than bullshit. There is no other way to put it, it is BULLSHIT!
While the system dictates that we cannot profile people in airport lines, and while old men in wheelchairs and young children must be screened, a terrorist was able to walk straight onto the plane with a bomb. The system is fatally flawed and we would have seen proof of that fact on Flight 253 if it weren’t for the passengers.
Napolitano is nothing but a political hack. There was nothing about an American system that was even involved in this incident. What failed were foreign security forces [Nigerian (where the flight originated), and Amsterdam, Netherlands (where the flight continued on to the US)].
I think we should report her as making fishy comments…

Agreed! Is that line still up?

The system sure failed here. The terrorist was granted a visa back in 2008 about the same time it was known about the ties to Al-qaeda. He was not on any known no-fly list; just a generic watch list. Why was he not put on the no-fly back then? That was a big dropping of the ball by everybody.

And we are now hearing that he was allowed on the plane without a passport, another man helped to get him on.

I watched as that statement came from her lying lips and at first couldn’t believe she had the gaul to make such a remark, then I thought back to her many other crazy statements. This bitch has no place in government and certainly not in her current position at Homeland Security. “The system worked”, the system is this case was a total failure!!

She needs to step down, she is embarrassing. And incompetent.

I know this is probably silly, but if the jihad-ists are still trying to blow up our planes, I think I am done with flying for a while. I do not believe this administration has our backs. This is now incident #2 in less than a year! That is not a good track record with Obama or this administration. In addition, it does not bode well for ‘feeling safe’ or ‘feeling that this administration and Obama are doing everything they can to protect us.’ And let us not forget that Holder wants to bring the Sheik to New York. God help us if that goes awry!

You want to hear silly, I have never flown before. This doesn’t make it any easier convincing myself that I should give flying a try.

It now soundls like the man was arrested for helping the terrorist board the plane without a passport. This was a coordinated effort. The system worked, I don’t thik so.

There was NOT a second attempt made, and is everyone confused about where this man boarded the plane?!?!?

a pignotti, where he boarded the plane makes Napalitano’s statement even more inane.
As for my take, our DHS is probably far too busy monitoring our blogs and activities to keep up with the actual people that REALLY ARE TRYING TO BLOW THINGS UP AND KILL PEOPLE.

There are many of us who, by necessity put many hours in the air making a living.
The people that tick me off the most, even more then the terrorists themselves is the political correctness crowd like this clown Napolitanooo.
I have enough pent up anger to rip the head of any terrorist that tries anything on one of my flights. But I could guess how the story would read?
Passenger arrested for assault & battery against poor little Muslim with 20 pounds of explosives and a fuse sticking out of there butt that didn’t even go off anyway.
Passenger thrown in prison without trial all assets confiscated while Muslim is given apologies and sent on his way.
Someone here said it
Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

An the president said today that this was an isolated incident. These people are really out there in the lala land without borders know as multiculturalism. They see no evil, hear……….evil!

They really are out of touch on this issue. To claim that this was isolated really shows us that Obama is not serious about solving this problem, he is too afraid of offending all Muslims to take the issue seriously.
