Nancy Pelosi is losing control of the House
According to this article, Nancy Pelosi is losing control of the House as Democrats are adopting an “every man for himself” attitude with the elections coming up later this year.
Nancy Pelosi is trying to remain firm in her leadership by trying to coax Democrats to vote in line with the party, but it appears that more and more Democrats are jumping ship. These Democrats are more worried about their re-election chances than they are about following Nancy Pelosi’s lead. Nancy Pelosi’s tenuous hold on the House Democrats could spell real trouble for Barack Obama’s agenda because the American people are rejecting his policies– and in turn are rejecting Democrats who support those policies in general.
As her influence wanes, and as Barack Obama becomes more toxic in the eyes of the voters, Democrats are turning away from the party agenda and focusing on what their constituents want. The problem that Nancy Pelosi has is evident to me; the Democrats have overreached, they have tried to do much, too fast, and they have scared off the moderate voters that put them in power. Without the support of moderate voters there is no way that many of these Democrats can win re-election, and they are beginning to realize that they have moved too far to the left.
With the exception of Barack Obama’s more ardent, far left supporters, the American people have rejected the president’s agenda. More specifically, they have rejected the healthcare reform bill and they are frustrated that the administration is not listening to them while they continue to push this legislation.
This problem is compounded by Barack Obama’s announcement that he will push for “comprehensive immigration reform” before the midterm elections. The American people have already rejected this policy when President Bush tried it a few years ago and they are in no mood to suffer through this issue again when so many Americans are out of work. Even supporters of immigration reform have to be upset that the president is talking about a national ID card, an issue that they see as an affront to civil liberties. Hell, they get upset if a person is asked to show ID when they go to the polls to vote.
The American people have to be asking themselves why the president is still pushing a healthcare bill they do not want, and is about ready to tackle an immigration bill they do not want, while he is ignoring the issues that Americans care about the most– the economy and jobs.
It is no wonder that Nancy Pelosi is losing respect in, and control over, the House. Democrats are proving to the American people that they are out of touch, and now Nancy Pelosi is feeling the heat from House members who are having second thoughts about supporting an agenda the American people do not want. Democrats are trying to distance themselves from Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi before the election in much the same manner that Republicans were trying to distance themselves from George Bush and Dick Cheney when it became toxic to be associated with those two. And Barack Obama has managed to do all of this in one short year in power.

I hear what you saying but found this:
Nancy Pelosi on being unpopular: ‘I don’t care’
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is one of the most despised political figures in the country.
And, frankly, she doesn’t give a damn.
“No, I don’t care,” Pelosi” told POLITICO last Thursday, laughing heartily as she walked beneath the Capitol dome and plunged into a crowd of tourists.
Last week’s Public Strategies Inc./POLITICO poll brought grim news for Pelosi, revealing that only a quarter of Americans trust the San Francisco Democrat — putting her in the basement with Treasury Secretary Timothy Geither and House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio).
Mention of the “trust” question halted the click-clack of Pelosi’s heels against the Rotunda marble, and she turned to face the reporter who posed the question.
“I don’t know about ‘trust’ — I think I’m trusted,” she said.
“I certainly want to be trusted. I’m not particularly concerned if I’m liked.”
But month after month of polling shows that the speaker is neither trusted nor liked by the general public — even as she emerges from one of the most productive legislative periods any speaker has ever enjoyed.

It seems to me that in theory, Barack Obama has 8 years to get his agenda through. If he had taken a moderate piece by piece approach he may have been able to pull off his agenda without much of a fight. I agree, too much too fast. This guy has now awakened those who previously didn’t follow politics in the past. Pelosi and Reid could have stayed in the shadows helped ram the agenda through but instead wanted to make their mark in history. Well, they may just do that…as some of the most unpopular politicians ever.

In a way we owe Barack Obama a debt of gratitude because nobody would have noticed how far left he was bringing the country until it was too late if he just took his time.

I have to admit, I am surprised at how fast President Obama has moved to enact the more liberal portions of his agenda. I thought he would take his time and work more slowly, at least until after the 2012 election. If he wins a second term, then all bets are off.
As for Nancy Pelosi, don’t even get me started on her. I can not think of anyone I distrust more than her. She is unapologetically, a far left liberal and she really does not care what the rest of us think.

Complete agree with you Mr. Pink Eyes: Obama winning the presidency and then gunning for a hard-left agenda has been a great thing as far as reawakening We the People.
Well, as long as he, Pelosi & co fail in the end. Fat lady, please sing soon . . .

BO moved fast because like all narcissist it is all about him. Carl Marx would have told him to take his time. I am sure he is like a wild horse to his handlers.
Oh how they will pay for their mistakes.
They chose the wrong Trojan and now he is heating the water so hard and fast that the only frogs that don’t jump out are already dead.
Not that we are out of the woods just yet but it is fun to see the socialists losing their grip on reality.
America had better show these social engineers whose boss this November and go much deeper then BO and the Democrats.

I really like how you laid this out. Great stuff.
It seems that the Dems know that their time is short, and are prepared to go full speed ahead on a suicide run. Well, at least Pelosi and Obama. Pelosi is solid in her district, the population being 95% moonbat and all. I don’t know that Obama cares if he’s a one term POTUS or not, but I bet he thinks he can block and harass the GOP one they take over the Congress, preventing them from undoing the damage he has done.

Losing control of her faculties, losing control of her “elective” surgery budget, oh well. Too late for her to quit while she’s ahead.
