Border patrol agents ordered away from the border because it is too dangerous
This news is several days old, so first let me apologize for not getting to it sooner.
One Arizona sheriff–Larry Dever–has now admitted that the situation at the Arizona/Mexican border has deteriorated to the point where it is now too dangerous for the border patrol agents, and because of this several counties in Arizona are refusing to deploy agents to the border.
And you frankly have Border Patrolmen–and I know this from talking to Border Patrol agents—who will not allow their agents to work on the border because it is too dangerous,” Dever told CNSNews.com in a videotaped interview. “Now what kind of message is that for crying out loud?
He does not blame the border patrol agents for this decision, claiming that they still want to do the jobs that they signed up to do, but rather he is blaming management for being unwilling to commit to the job that they are supposed to be doing.
Now, I am telling you, the agents, you give them a mission, you tell them what you want them to do, they will go do it,” said Dever. “I mean, these guys for the most part are warriors, they are soldiers.
“Then you have middle management and upper management that says: No, it’s too dangerous right there and we’re going to cause an international incident if there’s shooting across the line, back and forth”
Customs and Border Protection is defending their position not to engage the illegal invasion:
There are areas down there in the Tucson Sector where for officer safety reasons, officers aren’t up on the line. For whatever reason–it may be a remote area
Such is the current situation on the border and in the office designated to stop the illegal influx of “migrant workers” into this country. Arizona has been pleading with the federal government for help in securing their border but that request has been ignored. So Arizona took the next step and decided to pass an immigration law that would better protect the citizens of that state, and what did they get in return?
The federal government has decided to sue the state of Arizona for infringing on the jurisdiction of the federal government and a judge has stayed the Arizona law until the matter has been settled in court, thusly handcuffing Arizona.
And now we learn that management in charge of border security is unwilling to let agents patrol the border in some areas because the situation has worsened to the point where they feel it is too dangerous.
The federal government is unwilling to do their job, the Customs and Border Protection Agency is unwilling to do their job, and violence is escalating in the absence of leadership on this issue. The lone entity that was willing to provide leadership–Arizona–has been stopped from doing the job that both of the above mentioned entities are unwilling to do.
Meanwhile, Americans who live on the border are still being subjected to the dangerous situation that the Customs and Border Protection Agency has deemed to volatile too send their agents into. Something has to be done here, this situation cannot be allowed to continue. Who is going to help these people? Americans are in danger and nobody is willing to take a stand.
Knowing where Barack Obama stands on this issue, one is left to wonder if he had anything to do with the Customs and Border Protection Agency’s decision to remove some agents from the front lines.

This is not surprising when you stop to think about it. Those areas are certainly dangerous and at this point in time the last thing the Obama administration wants is to have a shootout on this side of the border with casualities. Think how that would play! They are pulling back just to prevent this, and not to put on public display their puny efforts at border control.
Sorry I haven’t been around much lately but things here at home are very depressing. I have made a few rounds tonight, but only a few!

Very giid poin Ron, maybe Obama ordered the pull back so that there would be no bad publicity before the election.

There is so much wrong with this picture, it isn’t even funny. Short and sweet, if the Border Patrol is unable to do what needs to be done, then the United States Armed Forces should be deployed to take care of the situation. I bet those cartels will not be so quick to come across the line to face fully armed and ready to rumble men and women who are determined to take back our border.

I agree with Larry. We need to secure the border…period! If it means deploying the National Guard (with ammo) and standing our ground against these drug cartels then so be it. If we have reached the point where we are pulling our border patrol agents, then something different and more direct needs to be occur. Great post Steve!

I agree! This problem is growing worse by the day and nobody is willing to do anything about it.

Pull everyone out, then carpet bomb the entire area. Or send Steven Seagal down there.

Either of those plans are better than what we are doing now!

if the gov’t wont defend the border then they should hand out weapons to land owners who are willing and grant them all immunity from prosecution and agree to indemnify them against any lawsuits …. this crap would end pretty quick …
