22 states prepare immigration laws similar to Arizona’s challenged law
In what should send a clear message to the Obama regime, as many as 22 states will be considering immigration laws in the future that are similar to the controversial immigration law that Arizona has recently passed which is currently facing a constitutional challenge by the federal government.
The American people have spoken; they agree with Arizona and disagree with the president’s position on illegal immigration. And now the states are beginning to act on the will of the people.
Twenty-two states are now in the process of drafting or seeking to pass legislation similar to Arizona’s law against illegal immigration. This is occurring despite the fact that the Obama administration has filed a lawsuit against the Arizona law and a federal judge has ruled against portions of that law – a ruling that is now being appealed.
Even if the federal government is either oblivious to, or do not care about, the problem that illegal immigration is causing throughout the country, the people and the states are not. And they are beginning to take an action which will force the hand of the federal government in general and Barack Obama specifically.
The laws that are about to be debated in these states do not simply adhere to partisan guidelines; some of the states are controlled by Democrats and some are controlled by Republicans. This is not a partisan issue, it is an American issue and the people feel that Barack Obama–much like President Bush was–is on the wrong side of this debate.
The situation at the border is reaching critical mass as is evident by the fact that the states which will soon be pursuing are not border states. They realize that all Americans are affected by the influx of the illegal invasion, not just those Americans that live on the border. This is a nationwide problem, not simply a problem that pertains to just the border states.
These 22 states are not intimidated by the fact that the Obama regime is suing Arizona because they realize how desperate the situation is becoming. And they realize that Barack Obama is not on their side.
The old saying goes that there is strength in numbers and we are beginning to see the states amass against this president’s out of touch immigration policies. The time is nigh; the states are going to force Barack Obama to once again declare if he is with us or against us. Up until this point Barack Obama has shown that he is against us, but as states line up and take a stand similar to the stand that Arizona is taking it will be interesting to see how Barack Obama responds.
This is not a war that the states wanted, this is a war that Barack Obama started with his policy of appeasement to Mexico. But it is a battle that the states have been drawn into by this president’s ill advised position. When Barack Obama’s regime decided to sue the state of Arizona he could not possible have foreseen that these other states would not be intimidated by his actions. Will he continue this fight now that almost half of the states appear ready to join the fight?
I believe that he will because he is an open borders ideologue who will not let a little thing like the will of the people get in the way of his grand vision. Barack Obama–as was seen in the healthcare reform debate–just does not give a damn what the American people want because he feels that he knows far better than do we what is best for us.
The states are lining up and they are declaring to the president, “bring it on!”
