Sheriff Paul Babeu to Sheriff Arpaio: “the sheriffs of America stand with you”

September 3, 2010

By now everyone knows the story of Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Sheriff Joe got himself in hot water with the Obama regime for trying to protect the residents of Arizona by enforcing immigration laws in Arizona. Because Sheriff Joe has been doing his job–and because the Obama regime does not want the borders secured–the Obama regime is now investigating this great man, claiming that he has been guilty of racial profiling.

Today another Arizona sheriff, Paul Babeu–the man who claimed that if he was given a thirty minute meeting with Barack Obama he could teach him how to secure the border–has come to Sheriff Joe’s defense, and assured the great man that America’s sheriffs have his back.

Sheriff  Babeu told Sheriff Joe that “the sheriffs of America stand with you.” But Sheriff Babeu did not stop there and he said everything that I have been saying for quite some time, only better. So I will let Sheriff Babeu speak for me:

Hooray for Sheriff Joe,” Babeu told CNSNews.com. “He’s standing up for Arizona and is actually enforcing the law

“Anybody who is out here in Arizona, we have a target on our back. … Instead of helping us, they [the federal government] literally fight us at every turn.”

“And this is yet another example of their assault against Arizona and undermining the rule of law and undermining the great honor of our badge,”

we are constitutionally elected and empowered to protect America and to protect our citizens, and that we shall do even if our own president will not.”

“Even our own president refuses to do his job,” Babeu said. “We will stand with our fellow sheriff and stand up for the rule of law and stand up for America.”

I have nothing more to add except that I am glad that the sheriffs of Arizona and of the country as a whole appear ready to defend Sheriff Joe from the onslaught of the federal government and they do not appear as if they are going to back down in the face of unrelenting pressure from a federal government that will not be happy until the sovereignty of the United States has been undermined.

Well, we see the punishment aspect of our current administration, don’t we? I do recall, just recently, seeing a story in which the federal government argued that race could be used in identifying illegals. At any rate, it doesn’t matter what the sheriff did, since he actually enforcing the law, they will use lawsuit after lawsuit in a war of attrition against both him and the state.

I wrote about that story as well, it is amazing how the Obama regime can take either side of the same issue to suit its needs.

See? Like I said before, Booboo for President! (He’s probably too young, though)

It’s about time other law enforcement officials started speaking out in support of Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Since he is only enforcing the current law, it shouldn’t be that big of a deal, but leave it to some people to change the tone of the conversation, pointing it to something that isn’t relevant.

It is great to see the people stand up behind Sheriff Arpaio and I am happy to see others in law enforcement that are now willing to do the same. If the feds win this where do they go from here? Which other law enforcement agent will be sued for doing his job next?

Pretty damned sad when the Sheriffs have more guts and more willingness to defend America than the U.S. president does…

Even more sad, the fact that the gutless SOB in the Oval Office ordered his *boy* Holder to prosecute..

Yes it is, but at least they are not backing down from the shadow of the federal government.

This whole Arizona deal really rubs me the wrong way. A sheriff stands up to defend and protect the people of Arizona and the government goes after him with some trumped up charge about racial profiling. We have reached this point because for year states have not pushed back. They have allowed the government to encroach on their sovereignty for years and have done little to nothing to call them out on it. Now we are at the point where citizens are being harassed because they are doing their job. As I said before, the federal government did not create the states, the states created the federal government. They need to start remembering this. Great post Steve.

Very well said John! You are correct, the states have brought this on over the years by not challenging the federal government. Because of this the feds believe they have free reign to do whatever they want and this is now culminating with a lawsuit not only against a state but also against a citizen for doing mothing more than trying to enforse the law. If nothing else comes from this lawsuit other than highlighting to the American people the usurpations of the over-reaching federal government perhps it will be the catalyst that will finally wake up the other states.
I will be over shortly to check out the link you have created. Thank you!
