Kelly Ayotte opens 18 point lead over Paul Hodes

November 1, 2010

The Republican candidate for United States Senate, Kelly Ayotte, has been enjoying a double digit lead over her Democrat counterpart, Paul Hodes, since she won the Republican primary. She has consistently held at least a ten point lead and Paul Hodes has not been able to close the gap, and now the latest poll is out and it shows that Kelly Ayotte increased her lead to eighteen points on the eve of the midterm election.

According to this acticle, Kelly Ayotte leads Paul Hodes by a margin of 54-36%. This has got to be extremely troubling news for Paul Hodes, because Paul Hodes and his record are well known to New Hampshire voters and this poll appears to be a repudiation of Paul Hodes’s record in Washington.

Paul Hodes is a two term congressman from the second district in New Hampshire who decided to run for the seat being vacated by the retiring Republican senator Judd Gregg. Paul Hodes voted for the healthcare reform bill even though his constituents opposed the legislation, and he voted for the stimulus bill and the Wall Street bailout bill. In fact, he has voted with Nancy Pelosi over 90% of the time even while trying to claim that he is an independent voice for New Hampshire. Is it any wonder why he is only able to muster 36% of the vote? For a man with a voting record for all to see, this number is pathetic to say the least and gives us some insight into what the New Hampshire electorate is thinking.

During this campaign he actually had the audacity to make the claim that he was fiscally responsible even though his voting record showed otherwise. This man is not independent and he is not fiscally responsible and the voters of New Hampshire are too smart to fall for this type of distortion.

Paul Hodes must not be the next senator from New Hampshire and while the polls are extremely encouraging I would ask that all New Hampshire voters take nothing for granted. We must send Paul Hodes packing, it is time for him to go back to New York where he came from. Make sure you get to the polls tomorrow and send a message to the president and everyone that made his “accomplishments” possible.
