Barack Obama claims the election was not about his policies, but about his lack of communication

November 5, 2010

After suffering what Barack Obama himself called a shellacking, you would think that the president would finally understand what the American people have been trying to tell him for so many months now, but it appears as if that is not the case.

When the Tea Party first began to speak out against this president and his out of control spending and social engineering the president did not heed the warning signs that were beginning to make themselves seen. And when Scott Brown won the seat in Massachusetts formally held by Ted Kennedy by running as the 41st vote against the healthcare reform legislation the president still did not heed the warning that the American people were trying to send him. He rammed his bill through the Congress against the will of the people.

And now with the red tsunami that swept across most of the country–with the exception of Massachusetts and California–it appears as if the president still doesn’t understand what the American people are trying to tell him.

Last Tuesday’s election was a clear repudiation of the president’s agenda and an obvious sign that the people want Barack Obama to take this country in another direction, but the president just doesn’t see it that way.

Barack Obama still believes that the reason the people rejected the Democrats was not because of his radical agenda but because he didn’t properly explain to the American people why his agenda was what was right for America. In an interview with 60 Minutes that will air this weekend Barack Obama once again claimed that he did not do a good enough job selling his radical agenda to the American people.

leadership isn’t just legislation. That it’s a matter of persuading people. And giving them confidence and bringing them together. And setting a tone,” Mr. Obama told 60 Minutes’ Steve Kroft in an exclusive interview set to air Sunday.“Making an argument that people can understand,” Mr. Obama continued, “I think that we haven’t always been successful at that. And I take personal responsibility for that. And it’s something that I’ve got to examine carefully … as I go forward.”

An argument that people can understand? In other words–much like he stated before the election–the people are just too damned stupid to understand how much good he and the Democrats have done in his first two years in office.

Again with the arrogant, smug, condescending, I know better that you attitude, Barack Obama makes the claim that he is just too damned smart for his own good. In his eyes the argument needs to be dumbed down so that the ordinary Americans–who he obviously feels are not nearly as smart as he–can understand an issue as perplex as the healthcare issue and the other issues that he hopes to pass in the next two years.

It is clear that Barack Obama just doesn’t get it; he honestly believes that the American people couldn’t possible reject his agenda, but rather they just don’t understand his agenda.

This is the same arrogant position which, coupled with his radical agenda, has him in the tough situation he is now in.

Barack Obama is talking about bipartisanship and compromise, while at the same time demeaning and insulting the people who voted against his agenda. It is becoming all to clear to me that this president has no plans whatsoever to work hand in hand with the newly elected Republican House, preferring instead to try to move forward his same radical agenda with a better propaganda campaign in an effort to turn the American people against the Republicans who have been sent to Washington to do the people’s bidding.

This is not bipartisanship, it is sleight of hand. But the American people are not as stupid as the president thinks–and hopes–we are, and we have awakened to the magic show that is the president’s flowery and generic rhetoric. The American people are no longer buying what Barack Obama is selling, so now he will try to repackage the same tired, worn out policies the American people have rejected and he hopes that we will not notice.

He really does think that we are that stupid. I would argue that it is the president who is not smart enough to–or too stubborn to–understand the clear message that the American people have been trying to send to him. Barack Obama needs to look in the mirror and reflect upon what he has done, then and only then will he understand that a vast majority of  the American people do not want to “fundamentally change” the America that we all know and love.

Steve excellent analysis. I remember watchin fox news the night of Scotts win and Bob Beckel was ranting on Hannity that Obama and.the Dems should ramm it through anyway. I was thinking to myself there no way….with the obvious opposition country wide, exemplified by Scotts win it appeared to be political suicide. He clearly has a plan and an Agenda and no matter how many seats he gives up or how much political clout he sacrifices he is not backing down. I believe after Tuesday he is more of a threat now than he ever was.

It’s called progressing the ball (agenda) down the field. Incremental socialist progress is what is happening. With the health care bill they have set up a structure that they plan to build on in the future. Sen Harkin likened it to a starter home and that they would continue to build on until they reach the goal of single payer. They know they will suffer setbacks along the way and some of their people will fall by the wayside along the way.

However, Pres Obama and the Dems have overreached and in doing so have awakened the American people to who these people really are. Socialist/Marxist ideological driven progressives who have come out of the closet since Jan 2009 thinking the country was ready to accept the decades long pent up Socialist agenda disguised as an economic crisis” not the likes we have seen since the great depression.”

No, no, a thousand times no. I just did multiple searches for what he said. His exact quote has been published in multiple places He said nothing in that statement about “until they reach the goal of single payer”.

My research does show that there are people on BOTH sides of the issue who ADDED the words single-payer, as though he said it.

If someone can find any place on the internet which is a communication from Senator Tom Harking that he would vote for single-payer or that he believes that single-payer is the answer, please let me know. In the meantime, he is off the list.

I believe in a speech Reagan once quoted a socialist who said that America would reject socialism, but under the guise of liberalism they would accept it one piece at a time. That is exactly what is going on here and it has been for quite some time. We need to reverse this process before it is too late.

Thank you! Well they did Rahm it through against the will of the people and it did turn out to be political suicide, but I honestly do not think that Barack Obama cares about those Democrats who were sacrificed so that he could pass his radical agenda. The end justifies the means and he got his end result.
He could be very dangerous in the lame duck session, we are going to have to watch him closely.

I’d like to see Barry explain it to us hillbillies one more time. He just can’t put that arrogance away, can he?

No he can’t! It is just who he is. Maybe if he tells us bitter, gun clinging, bible thumping rednecks one more time we will finally get it!

He’s not going to get it…never will. He and his ilk and their socialist policies must go…no compromises…end of discussion.

It is just who he is, he has been coddled for most of his life and told how great and how smart he is. Now he has the chance to show the world his greatness(in his mind) and he has failed because he is nothing more than the man behind the curtain.

    This is Position B.

The regressives have two positions on their core beliefs:

Position A: We didn’t get our message out.

Position B: We got our message out, but the great unwashed are too stupid to understand it.

Since they can’t claim that they didn’t get their message out this past year or so, they had to go to Position B.

They just can’t tolerate the idea that we understand perfectly that they’re trying to slowly convert us to a system of Feudal redistribution, where only the elites have control over who gets what and how much… which is why I call them “regressives”. There’s absolutely noting “progressive” about 10th Century European thinking.

What HE isn’t getting is that most of our ancestors left Europe ON PURPOSE… most of them to get away from the “elites” in whatever form they existed in their nation of origin, whether it was religious, political, or cultural elitism.

In fact, I’m wondering what Obama would say if someone accused him of acting and thinking like “… a dead white guy.” Isn’t that the liberal objection to studying “Eurocentric” history? Who want’s to know about “dead white guys”? If they HAD studies Eurocentric history, they’d recognize Feudalism when they saw it.

He just can’t wrap his head around the idea that we know what he is up to and disagree with him. He honestly feels that we are too stupid to understand his brilliance. He is the very definition of a megalomaniac.
