Senate Republicans vow to fight the FCC over Net Neutrality in the new Congress

December 16, 2010

The Obama regime is trying desperately to implement several agenda items that are so radical that even the Democrat led Congress has been unable to pass them. Among these items are cap and trade as well as net neutrality. Both of these items stalled in the Congress which led Barack Obama to say, “there are more than one ways to skin a cat.” When he made this statement he was talking about the recently stalled cap and trade bill; he was implying that if he couldn’t get the Congress to pass cap and trade through the process laid out in the constitution that he would allow the EPA to implement his policy through dictate–and they are in the process of doing just that.

The FCC is also in the process of trying to implement Barack Obama’s net neutrality proposal through dictate because the Congress has been unable to pass this legislation. There is only one problem; the SUpreme Court has already ruled that the FCC does not have the authority to regulate the internet. The FCC is now trying to reclassify the internet in an attempt to gain authority over it so that they can implement Barack Obama’s net neutrality agenda. And they plan on doing this next week when they think that the American people will be too distracted by the “holiday” season to notice what they are up to.

But this is not going unnoticed because according to this article, 30 Republican senators have sent a letter to the FCC warning them against this unconstitutional power grab:

The FCC does not have authority to regulate the Internet, and pursuing net neutrality through Title I or reclassification is wholly unacceptable. Our new majority will use rigorous oversight, hearings and legislation to fight the FCC’s overt power grab.
This is great news, if net neutrality is to be implemented it must be done through a vote in the Congress, that is the only constitutional manner in which such a bill can be implemented. Barack Obama needs to learn that he simply cannot have a bloated government agency take over on an agenda item where the Congress leaves off. If Barack Obama cannot get his radical agenda passed through the Congress than he must learn the simple truth that he can’t always get what he wants.

Republicans need to remain firm in their resolve to fight these unconstitutional power grabs by unelected government agencies. They must fight the FCC all the way to the Supreme Court if necessary, and once this battle is won they must also fight the EPA on cap and trade.

A dangerous precedent will be set here if we allow government agencies to pass ANY president’s agenda after it has been defeated in the Congress, for there will be no need for the check and balance the Congress is supposed to provide on the president if he is simply allowed to bypass the Congress.

That’s why the Gods gave high-caliber rifles and 32x scopes. If things get too bad Americans can make an example out of the traitors and their kin.

Few will seek to directly and actively harm America after a few of their cohorts’ crotch-droppings get their head exploded by .338 Lapua or .300 WinMag rounds

He should be impeached, tried for treason, whatever needs to be done to stop this abomination of an administration that shows complete disregard for everything this country was built on, nonetheleast of which is the Constitution. Enough is enough, and I’m sick and tired of fighting his agenda while the country goes down in flames.

And as for Congress, We the People should demand that all kinds of new rules and restraints AND TERM LIMITS be put on them cause I’m getting really really sick of the slimy things that go on, especially during the holidays, where we are consumed with worry and phone calls to stop craziness from occurring.

An overdue rant. Feels just like this time last year.

It certainly does feel quite the same as last year, these people know that we are distracted so this is when they make their move. Luckily there are more sources of news than ever before so it is harder for them to hide what they are really doing.

December 21 is D-Day. FCC meets on Net Neutrality. Flying under the radar. Huff Post is prepping for it with a study that Fox News viewers are the most misinformed. So transparent.

Isn’t it nice the way they try to do this when they know the fewest people will be paying attention?

I should add, I agree that no doubt, the courts will throw it out.. but they will put us through the mill once again.

Great stuff Steve. I was not aware of this FCC power-grab, it truly is hard to keep up with all the scatter-shot regulations this administration is attempting to implement.

Thanks, this administration has their tentacles in everything. It is hard to keep our eye on everything they are doing. Between this and the EPA this administration is looking to implement two big agenda items without getting a vote on them.
