Democrats+government shutdown=a new era of civility?

April 8, 2011

We all remember the aftermath of the Arizona shooting, don’t we? The president, an Arizona sheriff, and the Democrats in general tried to blame the vitriolic, half-filled rhetoric coming from the right as the reason for the shooting. All those mentioned above urged the Tea Party and the Republicans to enter a new era of civility because, after all, the rhetoric coming from the right can entice an unstable person to commit violence because that person would not be able to comprehend the difference between figurative speech and literal speech. The left tried to blame the words and pictures of Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, and the Tea Party for the actions of a deranged madman.

But the left just doesn’t seem to be able to live up to the standards that they ask the right to live up to and this budget debate and looming government shutdown provide us with the latest example of liberal hypocrisy.

With the budget debate dragging on the left has resorted precisely to the type of attacks that they accuse the right of committing. Louise Slaughter stated that the new Republicans were sent to Washington “to kill women:”

“In ’94 people were elected simply to come here to kill the National Endowment for the Arts. Now they’re here to kill women”

And she didn’t stop there, as she compared us to the Nazis:

It’s sort of like an old German Nazi movie. Show me your papers!”

How is that for the new era of civility in the public discourse? But as if that were not lesson enough from the Democrats that their mantra is do as I say, not as I do comes this from  Eleanor Holmes:

We are absolutely outraged. This is the functional equivalent of bombing innocent civilians
Accusing the conservatives of wanting to kill woman, calling us Nazis, and saying that the budget showdown is the equivalent of bombing civilians is apparently acceptable political rhetoric, yet drawing crosshairs on a map of politically targeted opponents is not. Drawing crosshairs on a map can inspire a madman to kill; using the inflammatory rhetoric as in the examples above is perfectly acceptable? And people still wonder why many people on the right simply do not take the Democrats seriously anymore?

The media was quick to speculate and point the blame at the Tea Party for the Arizona shooting in their lust to pin violence on the Tea Party and yet they remain curiously silent on the rhetoric spewing from the mouths of these half-filled Democrats? The media and the Democrats have lost all credibility when we contrast their words in the aftermath of the Arizona shooting with their words in the midst of this budget crisis.

The Democrats have ushered in the new era of civility with comparisons to Nazis and the bombing of civilians and there is no outrage in the media, and we can rest assured that if this were John Boehner calling the Democrats Nazis and women killers that the outcry in the media would be vastly different.

I might be willing to cut the Democrats a break on this issue–chalking it up to the heat of the moment–if it were not they who called for a toning down of the political rhetoric in the first place. Once again the Democrats have shown us how duplicitous they really are.

Democrats+government shutdown=a new era of civility? I think not.

Apparently, being “progressive” means never having to say you’re sorry, or play by your own rules.

These moronic democrat/liberal comments don’t surprise me in the least. I suppose it’s sad to say, but it’s true. The “intelligentsia” (as opposed to us hicks grasping our guns and God) feel no moral obligation to anything except the furtherance of their power. They have built a base of constituents that relies on the state for their existence, and when people become dependent they are controlled. The liberals & democrats will continue to fan the flames and divert blame. These are great sound bites for a target audience, and they are not unintentional.

The end justifies the means in their eyes and as such they are allowed to be hypocritical.

It’s okay when Dems do it because they’re fighting for the poor, the minorities, the downtrodden… see… it’s okay. Republicans just fight for rich white men who ship jobs overseas!
