Herman Cain at the New Hampshire Tea Party April 15th, 2011
Because of my weekend trip to Gettysburg I was unable to attend this year’s Tea Party event in New Hampshire, and because of this trip I am also a few days late in posting this. This Tea Party would have been a great event to attend because we are about to enter the 2012 election cycle and several of the potential Republican candidates were scheduled to speak.
Being less than impressed with any of the Republican candidates who are considered to be front-runners, I am taking a good hard look at lesser known candidates and among these candidates is the man with whom I am most impressed; His name is Herman Cain and he spoke at the New Hampshire Tea Party event in Concord New Hampshire (not Massachusetts Michele Bachmann) and from all accounts he “wowed” the attendees of this event.
I found the video of his speech at THE New Hampshire conservative blog, Granite Grok, and thought that I would share it with all of you. Yup. He is still number one on my list. But understand, the Republican establishment is going to do everything in their power to pick our candidate. We The People need to pick our own candidate.

I agree, when all is said and done the Republican party is going to do whatever they can to ensure that an “insider” wins the nomination because in the end they want to make sure that “one of their own” occupies the White House. We the people must elect the best person for the job and we cannot worry about what the party leadership wants.

I don’t know the answer to this but would like to hear your opinion: at what point do you opt for the person who can win a national election? My guess (and my past history) suggests most people wait until they can wait no longer. Others, vote for the one they support no matter the cost (think Perot/cost Bush and Nader/cost Gore) . Feel free to correct me if I am wrong with those examples. Thanks in advance.

I think you are right; most people will opt to vote for the candidate that can win a national election instead of voting for a third party. But at some point the people have to say enough is enough and I think we are nearing that point. I am tired of doing that and if the Republicans so not nominate a candidate I can support 100% I will look third party this year.

Herman Cain is the man I support Steve. Based on my research his values best represent mine. I like him.

He seems to have some support among Tea Party people, it will be interesting to see if he can gain any momentum at all. I think there is a chace he might because people are getting fed up with both parties.

I’ve had a Herman Cain banner on my site for weeks now. Unless something drastic comes out, he’s my candidate of choice. He has the knowledge, background, and attitude to defeat Obama.

He seems to be gaining support in the blogosphere, it will be interesting to see how that translates into votes, but he is my candidate right now also.

We need some libs to start bashing him. That’s when we’ll know how scared they are.

Good point. Right now they are not taking him seriously so they are leaving him alone. Maybe he can sneak under the radar.
