EPA bans Shell Oil from drilling offshore in Alaska

April 25, 2011

The price of a barrel of oil continues to rise, which means the price of gasoline continues to rise and when Barack Obama has even bothered to comment on this burden on the American people he has used this “crisis” in order to promote his regressive leftist ideals of building more windmills and choo-choo trains.

He claims–like many other Washington leftists–that we cannot drill our way out of this crisis while at the same time claiming that we must end our dependence on foreign oil, yet he told Brazil that America looks forward to being a major customer of Brazilian oil. The last time that I checked–while Brazil is not a Middle Eastern country–Brazil is a foreign nation.

I have told her that the United States wants to be a major customer, which can be a win-win for both our countries

The theory which Barack Obama is espousing here is that because America would be buying more oil from Brazil we would be buying less oil from Middle Eastern countries–and this would be a win for the United States of America.

Of course in order to buy into this philosophy we must forget that Barack Obama and other leftists want to abandon America’s reliance on fossil fuels altogether…..or do they? It would seem to me that Barack Obama’s enthusiasm for buying oil from Brazil indicates that he is not opposed to buying foreign oil, he is only opposed to where we buy the oil. If this is the case than wouldn’t it be beneficial to the United States to drill for oil in this country? Barack Obama is showing a willingness to buy oil from certain countries yet EPA restrictions make it all but impossible for America to drill for her own oil.

The latest example of this can be seen in this story about how the EPA has banned Shell Oil from drilling off the coast of Alaska; Shell Oil has spent almost $4 billion on this project and today they have announced that the EPA has made it impossible for them to continue the project.

The reason for denying a permit to Shell Oil according to the EPA is environmental concerns. The EPA stopped Shell Oil for a technicality; they claimed that when Shell Oil submitted a report on the environmental impact of this project they forgot to include the carbon emissions of an ice breaking vessel in the report.

The United States has some of the strictest environmental regulations in the world and certainly any oil drilling in America would be more environmentally friendly than any other country, yet Barack Obama and the leftists would rather buy oil from a country–such as Brazil–with more lenient environmental regulations and if the end game truly is to save the environment it would seem as if this position is 180 degrees out of whack.

This would leave me to think that there is something else here at play but what could it be? Barack Obama is a leftist, socialist, Marxist and as such he believes in the game of class warfare. He buys into the theory that the upper class is holding back the lower class and looks to achieve his power by playing one class against the other and that is what is happening in this case.

Communism is a form of government whose ultimate goal is world domination and Barack Obama subscribes to that theory at least in part. Apart from playing one class against the other–the rich versus the poor–in America, he also sees his Marxist views on a larger scale and he is playing the richer countries against the poorer ones. He honestly does not believe that it is fair to the world that America has been so powerful and rich for so long and he wants to level the playing field. This is nothing more than Barack Obama’s belief in the global distribution of wealth, and his friends in the United Nations have to be looking at this and smiling.

He can do this by simultaneously bringing America down and lifting other nations up. He is first and foremost a globalist and he longs to see the day when all countries are equal. He knows that the best way to so this is to cripple the American economy while propping up other nations and that is what this is all about.

Am I saying that Barack Obama believes in world domination? Certainly not, but does he believe in world equality? Absolutely, and he will not rest until there is equal mediocrity across the globe.

Congress becomes less and less legitimate by the minute. This administration moves full speed ahead with fundamental transformation, with barely a fight from congress. no cap n tax no problem, no immigration reform, no problem, no internet regulation,no problem, oh the supreme court rules in favor of buisness in campaign $$$$….no problem.
    We are screwed!

Obama did say America needs to come down a few notches. At least we can say he was sincere-unfortunately.

It is shown that the Government via the EPA is out to ruin the USA. Nothing but Oil Companies are made in the USA now. I bought a BUCK pocket knife because it is made here. So long as the government stops private industry from doing things that make money, there will be no money in the USA for anything.

Environmental reasons? Bull-Hockey! They want me to believe that Brazil, the Middle East or Mexico has a better record on clean and safe drilling practices. Americans are in the best possible technological position to drill cleanly with low environmental impact. If they were TRUE environmentalists they would want the U.S to drill and not uncontrolled third world countries.

Speaking of the EPA, I actually came across an article today that I think you may or may not have seen already, but it sheds a pretty good light on the current situation with the EPA and the “Haze Plan” that some seem to be pushing. Either way, it just came out in the Albuquerque Journal and is ranked as one of the top current articles regarding the EPA, so I thought I’d share it with you nonetheless. If you’re up for a glance, here’s a link http://www.pressdisplay.com/pressdisplay/showlink.aspx?bookmarkid=93P42TS46AM&preview=article&linkid=a2c15c0c-b9ae-4983-afac-9715fc90ded9&pdaffid=ZVFwBG5jk4Kvl9OaBJc5%2bg%3d%3d
