Mark Halperin suspended for calling Barack Obama a “dick”

June 30, 2011

Many of us who oppose the president have grown tired of his arrogant, condescending, and insulting attitude with those he disagree with. During his press conferences, and other unscripted events, he comes off as a self-centered narcissist who is bewildered at the notion that there is anyone in the country who does not see his greatness. In other words, he sounds like a dick much of the time.

It is one thing for me–or others who disagree so vehemently with the president and his policies–to make these accusations for often it can seem simply as sour grapes, but it is another thing altogether when liberal elitists start to come around and see exactly how arrogant and condescending Barack Obama can appear to be.

And that is exactly what happened this morning when Mark  Halperin stated that he thought Barack Obama came off as “a dick” in yesterday’s press conference. He has since been suspended by MSNBC for daring to speak out against the liberal messiah. Welcome to the club Mark; Barack Obama’s attitude is nothing new, but your eyes have been opened. You were simply blinded by Barack Obama because you agree with him on matters of ideology. There was nothing different about Barack Obama’s attitude during the press conference, you have finally caught up to the truth.

During the press conference Barack Obama’s arrogance was on full display: from comparing the Congress to his children, to claiming that the Congress was irresponsible for preparing to take a vacation even as he planned his next vacation, to claiming that he was too busy with Greece and Osama bin Laden to get involved in domestic affairs, to passing the buck for the debts his policies have thrust upon future generations of Americans.

Growing tired of Barack Obama’s rhetoric and vitriol with no positive results though actions, this was finally more than Mark Halperin could take and he spoke his mind, and for that he was suspended. Sooner or later the mainstream media has got to stop making excuses for Barack Obama and will have to look at results. We may be seeing the first signs that the media can no longer ignore Barack Obama’s failures, both in policies and in personality. Barack Obama promised to bring America together–remember the whole “there are no red states, there are no blue states, there is only a United States” spiel–yet he has been more successful at dividing the nation than he has been on anything else he has tried.

Mark Halperin finally realized this, when will the rest of the liberal media?

From the lips of liars the truth sometimes slips out. How sweet it is!

Yeah, it slipped out and he quickly apologized for it but the fact is he said what he really felt. It really is sweet.

If there is one thing President Obama can be depended on for, it is to come across as condescending. The man seems to think he can do no wrong and/or is above the requirements and restrictions he places on everyone else. Kind of odd to see a liberal journalist realizing that, much less stating it in public.

Barack Obama does have that way of sounding perturbed at anyone who dares to second guess him, and this presser was no different, it is interesting to see people in the MSM begin to admit it.

He told the truth – difficult for the left, then was punished for it – typical of the left.

Halperin might not be as bad off as you think. A wise crack gets him suspended, but an intelligent argument against Obama could get him canned over there.

Maybe you are right, if he went to an in depth analysis of Obama maybe he would have been fired; this way he and MSNBC get free publicity.

This type of language doesn’t belong in serious analysis. Honestly, though he may have been right, “arrogant” would have done the job fine. Now because of this story 3 people might watch MSNBC instead of 2.

You are right, this language doesn’t belong in the news media but this seems to be happening at MSNBC quite a bit right now. As Obama drops in the polls and with news his funraising is down they are becoming unhinged over there.

Too bad it wasn’t Chris Matthews or Rachel Maddow. Those two are really on edge lately.

True … Chris Matthews is really struggling. It is tough to watch. He has lost almost all objectivity and that was not always the case. Maybe Halperin will be canned. In that case look for O’reilly to lobby FOX for his hire. He enjoys fair debate.

Matthews will eventually snap, and probably Maddow as well if Obama keeps tanking. We just have to wait.

    HOW ironic

He surely IS one… yet lacking the peripheral equipment
(think two of them) that would actually make him a REAL man

It sure did and because he attacked a Democrat he is gone. I would bet that if he called Bush a dick he would have probably been given a promotion.

In the mean time, he could have referred to Bush as the F***ing Anti-F***ING CHRIST!!!! And had no negative consequences whatsoever!

the funniest part of the whole thing is how they goaded him into saying it with promises that they would use the delay if it was bad, that they’d cover for him. Then the D-bomb hit and, not only did they throw him under the bus, they all piled in and took turns driving over him.

They kind of did hang him out to dry, and it is pretty funny. The fact that he asked about the delay shows us that this was premeditated and was not a spur of the moment comment.
