Syria’s president hires Iranian snipers to shoot protesters, when will Barack Obama start the bombing?
When Barack Obama tried to justify his decision to interfere in Libya’s civil war he laid out the Obama Doctrine, which in a nutshell is this:
when our interests and values are at stake, we have a responsibility to act,” said Obama. “That’s what happened in Libya over the course of these last six weeks
left unchecked, we have every reason to believe that Qadhafi would commit atrocities against his people. Many thousands could die. A humanitarian crisis could ensue
According to the Obama Doctrine the United States should interfere in another nation’s affairs not only when our interests are at stake but also when our values are at stake, and part of those values are ensuring that the leader of another country does not commit atrocities against his or her own people so that a humanitarian crisis can be avoided.
This is an interesting position for Barack Obama to hold considering when he was running for president he claimed that America should not be the police force of the world, but that is just an observation and not the point of this post for we have a situation in Syria which is growing worse by the day.
Bashar al-Assad is committing atrocities against his own people–in violation of the Obama Doctrine–and it is now being reported that he has hired Iranian snipers to attack the protesters in his country, and yet Barack Obama remains silent. This calls into question once again what we are doing in Libya. Why does Barack Obama not feel the need to defend American values in Syria when this was his excuse for bombing Libya? According to the Obama Doctrine the United States should already be bombing Syria to prevent a humanitarian crisis, if that were in fact the real reason for his interference in Libya.
At best Barack Obama’s is naive and his foreign policy is disjointed and uneven, but at worst there is some other reason behind his decision to bomb Libya and I think it is about time for the Congress to hold his feet to the fire on Libya
It is quite possible that the Obama Doctrine was nothing but political posturing in order for Barack Obama to cover up his subservience to the United Nations. The United States had no business interfering in the Libyan civil war in the first place, but the United Nations told Barack Obama that he must and so he did.
We can only assume that if the United Nations decides that it is time for the United States to do something about Syria that Barack Obama will feel obligated to do so, whether or not there is a legitimate reason for doing so, but until then Barack Obama will sit around and wait for his marching orders.

Be careful Steve, if you challenge Obama too much he’ll bring out another moldy body and tell America that Osama bin Laden has been killed again…
Anything for a bump in points… 😛

Obama is so good he could kill Osama twice!

The U.S. has no business being in Libya. And no business in entering into a war in Syria.

I suspect Obami’s three little “lady” advisers convinced him that Gaddafi would be an easy target and he could be a hero again for taking out the scum bag. Of course, the other rumor is that he’s preparing for his interview for his next job as President of the UN.

That really isn’t a bad theory; Obama said this war would last days, not months yer here we are and he is still holding on. I guess it wasn’t as easy as he thought but luckily he has the media on his side and they are ignoring this.

It is curious that Obama et al, has no interest in Syria. But then again, maybe Iranian born Valerie Jarrett hasn’t given the OK. After all, we can’t slow down Iran.

It is interesting and something strange is going on here. I just wish the media would question him about it.

I personally believe we should leave them to their own devices. Our military is way to overextended and wearing down for years of continuous war. These wars drain our economy and expand the power of the executive branch over time. I know my position is not a popular one and I do agree Obama is a hypocrite however I believe we need to take a very hard look at how our military is used. I believe a strong defense keeps the peace. I support a strong defense. The problem I see is these continuous wars will eventually icompromise the readiness of our military.

You said it John.

I agree with you John and I thought we should have left Libya alone as well, I just find it strange that he would interfere in Libya while leaving Syria alone when the situations seem to be the same.

I’m still waiting for the War Powers Resolution to kick in with Libya. Or for Gaddafi to be overthrown. Or for Egypt to turn into a democracy.

The Congress had the chance to pressure Obama on the War Powers Act and they didn’t do it, now I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for them to act.

Gaddafi was trying to separate his central bank from the BIS system. This did not sit well with the globalists who fund the U.N.

I hadn’t heard that before, that is very interesting indeed!

Obama is amoral. He has no values, just au courant personal beliefs that change, chameleon-like, to reflect his environment of the moment. One day, he is grandly accepting an unearned Nobel Peace entitlement, and couple of months later, he is sending 30K new troops into Afghanistan.
