Democrat Congressman claims that the Tea Party wants to see black people “hanging on a tree”

August 31, 2011

A  Democrat Representative from Indiana, Andre Carson, recently had this to say at a Congressional Black Caucus event in Miami:

Rep. Andre Carson, a Democrat from Indiana who serves as the CBC’s chief vote counter, said at a CBC event in Miami that some in Congress would “love to see us as second-class citizens” and “some of them in Congress right now of this tea party movement would love to see you and me … hanging on a tree.”

He basically said that all members of the Tea Party want to lynch black people, and he also lumped in some Republican members in the Congress for good measure. I need not even mention how offensive and bigoted it is to lump a whole group of people into one category, as he has done, for this statement says more about his prejudice than it does about any member of the Tea Party.

I could take this opportunity to go into a long diatribe about the hypocrisy of the left for calling for a new era of civil discourse and a toning down of the violent rhetoric and the vitriol on the right while not maintaining the same standards themselves. I could even call out Barack Obama’s hypocrisy for not taking this representative to task for failing to live up the the president’s challenge in the wake of the Arizona shooting. Or I could even use this post to call for  Carson’s resignation, or at least censure on the House floor, but I have decided to take this post in another direction because I feel that this is just the beginning of this type of libel as we head into the 2012 election.

In the 2008 election Barack Obama did not run on his record because he had no record. He ran against George W Bush’s record. He had no record because he did not want a record; by voting present most of the time in the Illinois Senate he created a blank canvass and he was able to fill that canvass with glorious images and soaring rhetoric. Much like the great artists and impressionists of days gone by–when people would look at an artist’s rendition and come to various conclusions about the true meaning of the piece of art and no interpretation of that piece of art was wrong–Barack Obama was able to create an image of himself that was all things to all people. The people looked at Barack Obama’s blank canvas and painted the picture of Obama that they wanted to see.

In this regard Barack Obama was a master artist and he created a masterpiece which propelled him to the White House. But after two years of the Obama regime people are now taking a second look at that masterpiece and they are coming to the conclusion that his canvas was not a masterpiece but more equivalent to “dogs playing poker.”

“Dogs playing poker” is an image that many people find entertaining to look at for the first time, but that image holds no real meaning and grows tiring and boring after repeated glances.

After that long and drawn out analogy, back to the point I was trying to make; Barack Obama now has a record, but the American people have rejected that record as can be seen by his approval rating which is under 40%. This means that the only people who approve of the job the president has done is his base and this simply is not enough to get him reelected. Barack Obama cannot run on his record, and the Democrats in the Congress cannot run on his record, and naturally they cannot run against their own record so they have to come up with a new battle plan.

The Republicans–if they are smart–are going to run against Barack Obama’s record in the hopes of achieving the success that Democrats had in running against President Bush’s record so the Democrats are going to have to attempt a flanking manuever to break the head on assault coming at them from the Republicans.

The Democrats do not want this election to be decided on Barack Obama record or on the issues, so they are in the process of turning this whole election into a race issue. Instead of trying to defend Barack Obama’s record the left is going to try to deflect the attention away from his failings and they are going to try to paint everyone that opposes this president as a racist.

They hope that this strategy will pay off twofold: they hope that this will result in the voters not paying attention to the issues, as well as forcing the Republican candidates to take a defensive stand instead of attacking the president on the issues. This is what is known as a feigning manuever in warfare and we must not fall for this trap. For this is nothing but a designed manuever intended to take our eyes off the place where the real battle should be fought.

If the Republicans are forced on the defensive and do not remain focused on the issues Barack Obama could very well win a second term, and that must be avoided at all costs. These attacks on the character of the various Republican candidates will only increase as the Obama regime and the Democrats become more desperate, but as I said above, these attacks tell us more about them than they do about us.

Andre Carson has begun to lay the foundation of the Democrat platform moving forward; the Democrats are going to try to hammer the Republicans into submission by levying the most vile of accusations against them so we had all better get used to it, grow a thick skin, and continue the charge to the White House.

If these comments by Andre Carson are any indication–and I think they are–this is going to be the dirtiest and most disgusting campaign ever run and I hope that the American people do not forget how far the Democrats have sunk in their lust to remain in power when they head to the polls in 2012.

I’ve been saying for some time now that this is going to be the ugliest and dirtiest elections in American history. Your analysis is spot on, in my opinion, Steve. Maxine Waters, Wassermann-Schultz and others are just warming up.

Thanks, and you are right, they are just warming up and this is going to get very ugly.

I read this blog every day. Thanks for being here. I enjoy it. I think I am fair. I seldom read stuff like “Crooks and Liars” or listen to BS from people like Carson because bullshit and hate clogs my mind. When a man is right, others hear that. That man is big. That man’s ideas are too strong to ignore.

Thank you for reading. I expect this to become a very nasy campaign, and I think we are seeing the beginning of the Democrats’ playbook here.

I said a few weeks ago that this looked like a coordinated attack on the “tea party.” Now I’m sure of it. I won’t soil your site with what I want to say to Andre Carson. Maybe I’ll soil my own.

You can soil if you want to, I don’t mind. There is no doubt in my mind that this is no longer just a few individuals but the beginnings of a coordinated attack and it is going to get very ugly.

This type of stuff is nasty indeed. Democrats do such damage to this country. It seems to be the way of the Left wherever they are found.

It is nasty already and I think it is only going to get worse as the Democrats get more desperate.

Short of assassination I don’t see what else they can do. They’ve already been playing the race card, the immigration card, the gun card, the tax the rich card.

        What else is left?

They play the race card when they are out of everything else. It is normal! We have just gotten to the point that we are not backing down from it. Let them say what they want, it doesn’t change the fact that the country is going down the tubes and it is directly related to their party and their president. There, that is “generalizing” just like they do. They lumped everyone into the Tea Party catagory as one certain type of person and I am doing the same. Not all the Dems agree with Waters/Carson and they are not held responsible for what they said. However, they should not condone it. I have a feeling as was stated above in the other posts, this will and cannot be about running on his record, they would surely lose, but it will be about the whites against the blacks. Wasn’t Obama supposed to bring people together? I think that turned out to be a big “NO”!

I think this could backfire on them because they are starting to look as if they are unhinged and the American people are not going to vote for people who they feel have lost control.

The one hope with all of this, is that by starting this hate stuff so early, people will tire of it by election time. I know they want to gin up their base, but even Alinsky said:

RULE 7: “A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.” Don’t become old news. (Even radical activists get bored. So to keep them excited and involved, organizers are constantly coming up with new tactics.)

I think that this could backfire on the Democrats because people are going to tire of these attacks and see them for what they really are.

His comments are insult to all Americans. He is a sad sad man. I can hardly believe anyone would have voted for this man. I bet black Americans are ashambed of idiots like this.

I agree and I think that this type of attack is not only an insult but also an embarrassment, however the last poll that I saw showed that Barack Obama still polls very well with black Americans.

The other thing to keep in mind is the fact that mainstream media is STILL only reporting what they feel will put Obama in a good light, and ignoring the bad policies that he is implementing.

Unfortunately, many Americans believe that when they turn on the news, they are getting all the information that is important. This simply is not true, so the naive masses haven’t a clue what is going on under their noses, and will continue to live their lives with blinders on.

The end result, they will not go out and vote. I can totally see this as being a way that he gets elected again. (That, plus the many other “Acorn-type” agencies that are producing non-existing or dead voters yet again).

Mark my word, this will be a dirty fight!

It will be a dirty fight, that is for sure, but I do think that with the alternative media more and more people are waking up to the fact that the MSM is nothing more that a propaganda arm of the Obama regime. At least I hope so!
