The Obama campaign starts a website urging people to report their neighbors

September 14, 2011

The Obama campaign has launched a new website called Attack Watch which urges people to report anyone who gossips about, smears, or attacks the president. Does this sound familiar? If it doesn’t it should because this is not the first time that Barack Obama has urged citizens to turn in other citizens for opposing the positions of Dear Leader.

During the healthcare reform debate Barack Obama started a website which urged American citizens to report people who opposed this legislation. This website urged people who engaged other people in a casual conversation about Obamacare to report that person if they held a position which the regime felt was an “untruth.” By “untruth” Barack Obama means anyone who was opposed to the legislation.

But this attempt at silencing free speech and intimidating his opponents  began before Barack Obama even became president; how can we forget the “truth squads” that then candidate Obama sent out to try to intimidate television stations which ran what he felt were “misleading” ads?

There is a growing pattern here; if you oppose the president and his positions he wants to know about it, and he urges other citizens to tell him about it. He claims that this is an effort to right the wrongs done against him by misinformation but one has to think that he is actually compiling an enemies list.

What is he going to do with this list? Hopefully he won’t be president long enough for us to find out the answer to that question.

If only he’d take the time to detail and correct some of the “untruths” his own party and campaign spew on a regular basis. I guess those don’t count. Oh, and for anyone reading this, please go ahead and report me to the “Great and Powerful One’s” site. I’d love to be one of the first.

I must have already been reported because the site won’t open for me. I feel so unwanted now.

Sweet! Now I won’t have to report myself. It seems as if we are both on the enemies list now!

Thanks for the link. I checked it out.

It asks people to sign up to be on a mailing list so that when someone smears the President, or spreads lies about him, they’ll send out the truth to everyone on tthe list.

I looked real closely, though, Steve, and couldn’t find anything about turning in my neighbors. I didn’t miss the big request for donations, but there was no call to turn in neighbors or report people for spreading lies.

    What’d I do wrong?

Take good care and may God bless us all.

They report this smear, in order to do that they have to report where they heard the smear don’t they? And when does opposing the president amount to a smear?

When you report an attack, you have a choice of where you heard it – TV interview, rumor, political ad, etc. You also have the option of attaching files, so if you TIVO a GOP debate, you could send the recording along. It actually makes sense, if you’re going to run an operation like this, to get the actual statements, because people so notoriously get things wrong.

But there’s no option for turning in your neighbor. Or the fellow at the T-Party meeting who said that Obama kicks puppies.

And the site isn’t asking for reports of opposition to the President, it’s asking for attacks. Now, obviously, some people are going to send in reports of opposition, but they weren’t solicited. Should the site shut down because of that?

What this is is another arm of the fundraising machine. If it turns out to be financially productive,, they’ll keep it going; if not, they’ll abandon it with the claim that not many people used it and they can use their resources better elsewhere.

Take good care and may God bless us all!

I have to admit that I may have gone overboard with the title of this post and I cannot defend it. I also feel that the three posts I wrote yesterday are not my best work, I rushed them out. I am not using that as an excuse, but it is a fact.
But Attack Watch does give the option to report the attack as a forwarded email or rumor and I think that means it can be seen as being geared towards more than just a radio personality or a television ad, it can be geared towards ordinary Americans. While this is being called an attempt at defending lies and distortions the administration knows that people who support them are going to report people who simply oppose the policies. And I feel as if this is something they are not opposed to, the question is, what happens to the list of people who are reported to this site?

    Steve
Wow! Seems I’ve heard this one before. I believe it was in the USSR and children were told to tell their teacher if their parents said anything bad about the wonderful Communist Government. Rehab centers in the future. Also Cambodia, China, N.Korea,etc.,etc.
Thanks for the info.Keep them coming.

I think this goes beyond ridiculous! He is grasping at straws now, trying to use people against one another, like he has in the past. It is may work for awhile, but I think in a short time it will just be pulled off as a website. They will probably be shamed into removing it and will have their PR spin put on it that it wasn’t what people thought it was. You know how they play the game. This whole administration has turned into a big joke with a bunch of children running it. We are doomed unless some adults step in and give them a big time out, right?

Oh for Pete’s sake. Get a grip and stop theorizing on what is real and what is not real.
The President’ is NOT going to take your name and do something with it. Is this all that you people worry about! Give me a break..
You all forget what a master politician the president is. He is NOT in trouble at all.

This story is over two years old so you are a little late. However maybe you should google the NSA and IRS scandals before you proclaim that Obama isn’t collecting info on Americans.

Can I just turn in my own name? Just to save all the lib’s I work with some time? This is so creepy that anyone on either side of the isle would think this would be OK. And they called Bush Hitler? I guess this time around the “bad” people are Republicand, Libertarians, Patriots, and especially those Tea Party types. I guess we will need Re-Education camps and how about starting in 1st grade teaching those little kiddies how to spot those types, you know like their parents so they can report to their teachers.

Old Marine, I thnik they have already started the brain washing of our children years ago. We are finding out what is in the books they read and what has been taken out or changed about history. That is what happens when the progressives/liberals have control of printing the books. As we have talked about before, they start attacking us when they have massive amounts to hide that they are doing….remember to watch that other hand when they start screaming and pointing at us. Aren’t you just sick of all of this? Maybe Steve should just turn in ALL of our names that visit his blog, that should take care of it. I think they probably should start building the camps with highrises, there are alot of us patriotic kind that will need to be taken there.

The re-education camps are the public schools, and one has to wonder if children will eventually be asked to report their parents.

Well, it has been tried before and it worked for awhile. The question is will it work again or have people opened their eyes? This whole thing is just plain stupid, isn’t it? These are adults that are supposed to be running the government, really? My cats could do a better job. I wonder who came up with the name “Attack Watch”? Scares me, I know that (not). Like I said, stupid and you know what I think of stupid people, by now! So, go ahead and turn me in, as well, I could use a bit of R&R at Club AW. See you there?

Thanks for the link Steve. I signed up and reported my own site. I don’t bash Obama much as I’m issue-driven, however I reported a critical post, and will let you know how that changes my traffic, and how many comments, if any, I get as a result.
