Harry Reid claims that government jobs are more important than private-sector jobs

October 19, 2011

Earlier today Harry Reid admitted that he–and the Democrats–were more concerned with creating or saving government jobs than they were about creating or saving public sector jobs when he declared on the Senate floor that “private-sector jobs have been doing just fine.”

 Hereis what Harry Reid said:

It’s very clear that private-sector jobs have been doing just fine; it’s the public-sector jobs where we’ve lost huge numbers, and that’s what this legislation is all about

It has long been the contention of many of us that the stimulus bill was nothing but a giant slush fund which paid out billions of dollars to Democrat special interest groups such as the unions while doing nothing to help the working class people who are struggling to make ends meet. The stimulus bill did nothing to stimulate the economy and it was never designed to; it was designed to line the coffers of those who donated to Barack Obama’s campaign and create more government jobs while manufacturing jobs continued to travel overseas.

And now Barack Obama has proposed a second, smaller stimulus bill which is nothing but more of the same failed policies in an attempt to ensure that the special interest groups which got Barack Obama elected in the first place are ready to vote for him in 2012.

The American people have rejected Barack Obama’s economic policies and the Republicans have rejected Barack Obama’s economic policies and the Democrats are growing frustrated because they cannot get the support needed to pass this new stimulus bill. In his frustration Harry Reid let the truth slip out and proved to all Americans what many of us knew was the truth all along; Harry Reid and the Democrats do not give a damn about the private-sector and are only interested in growing the government.

For Harry Reid to claim that the private-sector is doing just fine in light of the economic struggles most American are feeling  just goes to show us how out of touch and uncaring the Democrats really are when it comes to the plight of the ordinary American citizen And the Democrats are supposed to represent average Americans? I think not!

We already knew that they would slip up at some point, this must be Harry Reid’s moment, right? Will it make a difference what he said? Probably not!

Well , Harry is right about one thing. Government is no good at producing private sector jobs. Just ask the ex-employees of Solyndra. So it has to be more bureaucrats, who producing nothing but problems, and teachers, who produce OWS idiots.

That is true, the Democrats have to bring the unemployment number down before the election and these are the only jobs they can create so it is what they must try to do.

Without victimization and generational entitlements the Democrat’s would be powerless – they are the last refuge of the lazy, weak and confused. Government jobs are also the last refuge of those who have no incentive to work hard. These are part of Harry and the Democrat’s power base of those who take and give nothing in return. Just my opinion….WM

I mean, seriously. What more does this Socialist, elitist, America-hating Democrat Party need to do before people realize they are evil?

    Enough.

This really got me riled up. There are many government jobs that are necessary. They serve a purpose and often provide protection. But to say the goal is to create a society wherein the people are dependent upon the government for their bread and butter is an outrage! The goal should NOT be to grow government. This is a government of the people and should be supported by the people.

So true, there is a need for government jobs but the fact is that the Democrats don’t want to stop there. They want everyone who is not working for the government to be dependent on the government.

My take on the Government was when I had a 1987 Monte Carlo SS (white), a number of years back. I had pulled up to a mailbox in line with others in front and back (it had been snowing), while waiting a government pickup truck pulled out of the spot to my left and crunched in my front left quarter panel. The guy said that with the snow and me being in a white car that he did not see me…guess he didn’t see the dark car in back of me, either!! Well, we filled out his “government” paperwork and had to send it in. I got a letter that said I could NOT fix my car until I heard from them, but I could not drive it, either. Long story short, I paid my deductible to my insurance co., got it fixed and 2 1/2 years later after my insurance co. fighting with them I got my $250 deductible back. My point is that I had actually forgotten about the money, but the government works slowly and CAN work slowly, because what are you going to do to them? They pretty much call the shots and have the power to do it. What we do or say has little impact on them, they will keep going in the direction they have planned.

Normally I like the fact that the government has to worl slowly, it keeps them in check, but in your case it certainly did not work out for you. You are right, they don’t give a damn about what we are trying to tell them because their ideology is more important to them than anything else.

I cannot believe the good people from Nevada reelected this fool. He’s an embarrassment. Government jobs do not create wealth they consume it. Private sector jobs are the jobs that create new wealth. What a moron. We can do better than this fool.

John, it appears that Nevada voters vote like Illinois voters, right? We try here to vote the crooks out, but somehow they still get elected, go figure. Is it possible there is some corruption going on,,,,Hmmmmm?!?

I can only hope that this is more democratic rhetoric, and he doesn’t actually believe what he is saying. If he does believe what he is saying then then Harry Reid is obviously delusional and needs to think about retiring.

It’s the Republicans own fault that the moron got reelected this time. They couldn’t come up with somebody with more than 1 brain cell to run against him? Out of 100 Senators, HE was the one at the top of my list to get a frigging pink slip, but the not very bright Nevada Republicans picked the worst possible candidate to run against him.

Maybe, but could it also have been the buying of votes and voter fraud that played into it? The Republicans could have had a worse candidate and she was still better than Sen. Reid. It seens they can always find the votes “somewhere”, like trunks and basements behind the furnace. When are people going to start not believing this stuff?

It certainly is frustrating isn’t it? The only person I wanted to see lose more than him was Barney Frank and Mass. simply didn’t get the job done either.

Steve, it all boils down to which party is willing to cheat and lie the most. We saw what happened with Al Franken, they kept checking and rechecking the votes until they came up with enough. I know there was a bit of a fight that was put up, but if it had been the other way around there is no way that the Democrat would have given up. The Republicans are too “soft” and “nice”, when it comes to contesting a vote. We all will suffer for this going on. Democrats will stop at nothing in order to get in office, when is someone going to stop them from all the fraud going on?

I heard someone on the radio say once that it was no longer good enough to beat a Democrat candidate outright, you have to beat the recount margin because if there is a recount the Democrat will always find enough votes to win. It is sad that it has come to this point, but I believe it is true; the Democrats will protest any close election and when push comes to shove they always seem to win.
