Solargate: Navy forced to purchase biofuel even though it is nine times more expensive

December 24, 2011

I have written several posts on the Solargate scandal and Barack Obama’s misuse of the stimulus money to promote his radical “green energy initiative.” The same “green energy initiative” which just happens to line the pockets of major Democrat contributors and protects their investments and allows them to funnel the money back into the campaign coffers of Democrats while leaving the American taxpayers on the hook for the loses once the companies fail. Well, its been awhile since we have heard anything about Solargate, but it is back again and this time it involves the Navy.

Because of the predicted failure of the Super Committee $500 billion in cuts to military spending were triggered and what does the Obama regime decide to do when the military is trying to decide where to make these mandated cuts? They are moving forward with their plan to purchase 450,000 gallons of biofuel for the jet fighters.

This wouldn’t be a problem if it weren’t for two things; first, this fuel isn’t readily available on the frontlines if the planes were called to action, and second; the biofuel is nine times more expensive than regular jet fuel. It would seem to me that as the military was looking at places to start cutting its budget the biofuel program would be a logical starting point, for we are adding costs to the price of fuel when we could keep these costs the same and everything would remain unaffected. Because the Obama regime is moving forward on this plan and fuel costs are going to increase nine fold the Navy will have to look at making cuts in other areas.

So why is the Navy moving forward with this cost prohibitive plan when they are charged with finding budget cuts? The Navy is purchasing its new biofuel from a company called Solazyme and–stop me if you’ve heard this one before–Solazyme just happened to receive almost $22 million in stimulus money. Granted $22 million is a mere pittance to the Obama regime when taken in consideration with the other companies involved in the Solargate scandal, but $22 million is still quite a bit of money for the government to spend on a failing company.

But wait, there’s more: Solazyme has a “strategic advisor” under its employ who goes by the name of T.J. Glauthier, and Mr. Glauthier just happens to have–you guessed it–ties to Barack Obama. Glauthier was a member of Barack Obama’s transition staff and was charged with finding energy companies to spend stimulus money on. PERFECT, what another unbelievable coincidence!

Because of Barack Obama’s cronyism, while the Navy is forced to make cuts they will not be able to cut this expensive biofuel initiative even though it makes their operating costs skyrocket. It should be the starting point for the budget cuts but Barack Obama has deemed this “green energy initiative” to be of such a value that is doesn’t matter how many billions of dollars are wasted, and it doesn’t matter that this will make jet fighters jobs harder if they are called into action–and we saw in Libya that this isn’t out of the question–because he is more worried about protecting the interests of his green energy friends .

This is all such a multilayer, complex scheme that who knows how far reaching it is?

The DOE is funding Alternative Energy, the USDA is funding biofuels and loans for buisnesses and farms to purchase Alternative Energy, and both are selling to the military. We have solar farms at many military bases, including GITMO and “it will provide electricity for the expansion of Denich Gym at the Cooper Field sports complex.” At Fort Hood –”Three thousand photovoltaic panels will be installed in a four-acre lot near the Liberty Village housing area by March 2012” At Edwards Air Force Base–“This project was brought to the base through a federal program named Power Purchase Agreement,”said Yusuf Ahmed, 95th Civil Engineering electrical engineer. “There is a third party that is chosen to build a renewable energy source on the base and they are the ones who fund all the installation. The agreement is we purchase the power from them.”

    http://idealab.talkingpointsmemo.com/2011/09/us-army-embarks-on-7-billion-renewable-energy-overhaul.php
The U.S. Army has embarked on an ambitious $7 billion series of utility-scale renewable energy projects. The program calls for the Army to use its land as equity to leverage about $7 billion in private investment for the twenty projects.
Rather than paying up front for the installations, the Army plans to attract companies that would build the renewable energy installations in exchange for a commitment from the Army to purchase the energy.

Made made climate change and the so called ‘green energy’ agenda are a fraud: The following are excerpts from and article written on my website….WM

    Washington Post – November 2, 1922 :

The Arctic Ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and, in some places, the seals are finding the water too hot, according to a report to the Commerce Department yesterday….[1]

Time Magazine 1972 – Time Magazine, environmentalists and their fellow travelers hysterically claimed a coming ice age – civilization as we knew would be wiped out. [2]

Simply – the idea put forth by the ‘green energy’ agenda is one of the biggest frauds, next to Obama being qualified to be President. They are counting on the ignorance of Americans to further their profit making agenda. And….as for those spiral light bulbs they can screw them up where the sun don’t shine. Just my opinion….WM

I hope nobody thinks this is a phenomenon unique to Democratic administrations.

If the GOP were serious about ending this sort of foolishness, one way would be for its candidates in the upcoming caucuses in Iowa to go on the record as opposing subsidies for ethanol.

As to the other – the inaccurate representation or identification of a problem years ago is not proof that no such problem exists today.

Take good care, have a grand Christmas, and may God bless us all!
