Solargate: Solyndra to hand out bonuses even though the company is bankrupt

January 12, 2012

It has been awhile since we have heard anything about Solyndra and Solargate so let me refresh your memory: Solyndra was an alternative energy company which the Obama regime awarded $500 million in stimulus money. The Obama regime was anxious to kick off its “green jobs initiative” so the loan was fast tracked and the review was not completed before the money was awarded to Solyndra even though there were major concerns about the companies viability.

This provided Joe Biden with a nice little backdrop for the Obama regime to announce the “green energy initiative” but the concerns over the company’s viability were soon realized when Solyndra filed for bankruptcy. But the story gets worse because the Obama regime rewrote the stimulus loan terms to ensure that Solyndra investors–who just happen to be Democrat and Obama donors–were prioritized and protected ahead of the taxpayers.

  Fast forward to today:

Solyndra has announced that the company plans to hand out bonuses to employees even though the company is in bankruptcy. Where is the outcry from Solyndra’s enabler, Barack Obama? I find his silence on this issue interesting because you might remember that when companies accepted bailout money it came with a strings attached.

Those strings included a cap on executive pay and he moved to stop bailed out companies from handing out bonuses. Here is part of what he had to say:

But what gets people upset — and rightfully so — are executives being rewarded for failure, especially when those rewards are subsidized by U.S. taxpayers

But apparently this same behavior is not frowned upon when you are a Democrat donor who is heavily invested in a pet project of this president. Instead of holding Solyndra executives accountable because the company was subsidized by the U.S. taxpayers the Obama regime instead moved to protect the investors in the company while screwing over the taxpayers.

Barack Obama is allowing Solyndra to reward failure by failing to speak out against this and he is doing it for purely political reasons–this is the very same type of crony capitalism that Barack Obama railed against when he was running for the presidency.

Hey it’s the Liberal way! But let’s look at what Liberals say… you bought a company and fired 1,000 people and made it profitable and you paid yourself a bonus… you must be evil!

That’s what they’ll be saying about Romney.

I’d rather have that than Solyndra.

We need to bookmark this post and republish it during the general campaign. Just to remind everyone just how much Obama is guilty of a double standard.

Issues like this must come up during the general election and I hope that whoever is the nominee will bring them up. I hope the only reason this hasn’t come up during the primary is because they are saving it for the general.

Steve, maybe you should make a video and post it to youtube along with your web address. I bet you would get alot of people stopping by. Of course you would get alot of trolls, too, but at least more of the information you post would get out there to some that don’t know about these issues. On second thought, there would be alot more trolls to take down. Never mind.

I wouldn’t even mind the trolls, all traffic is good traffic, and that is a good idea but I just don’t have the know how when it comes to making videos.

This is just crazy. Talk about audacity. These people have no shame. How about this idea for the company…turn out the lights the party is over.

John, this is the way it is going to be from now on. It is becoming the “normal”, isn’t it? Who is left that will put up a fight about this? Looks to me like NO ONE! Obama knows what he is doing and he is good at it. He also knows that no one will do a darn thing about it or the race card will be brought out. I am really getting tired of that. I thought we were past that, but I guess I can say, I was wrong. I imagine this will continue as long as this party has control of our house.

He is allowed to get away with this because the Republicans aren’t willing to challenge him on it, and I think they won’t say anything because when they get in power they don’t want the hassle from the Democrats if they do something like this. It really is getting frustrating that nobody has our best interests at heart.

If Mitt Romney gets the nomination, he can campaign on “this is what Bain would have done.”

Now that would be interesting and during one debate Mitt said that he would compare GM laying off employees after the government took them over to what he had to do at Bain.

But RJ, will he do it? I don’t see much backbone in any of the Republicans. They don’t want to offend anyone. This group of candidates (other than Gingrich) better get off their butts and start attacking or this election is lost, if it is not already. There can only be so much “nice” before you have to come out swinging. What is it going to take? If we lose this election, there might not be another one.

And Gingrich is too busy trying to sabotage the other Republicans to go after Obama anymore.

The way things are going with the candidates, we would be better off ending it now somehow. Then all of the attention can be placed where it needs to go. On this issue and other Obamanations. It seems we are determined to self devour.

There will be time to go after Obama after the primary, but at this point it looks like the Republican nominee may be too damaged himselft to inflict damage on Obama.

I cannot understand why the news media ignores telling the truth each week about the corrupt staff Obama has. He thinks he is doing a good job!!
A score card like chart should be published each week because it is easy to forget the corruphion going on.
