Happy Birthday President Reagan
February 6, 2012
If President Reagan was alive today would have been his 101st birthday. It is hard to believe that so much time has passed while we have been busy leading our lives and trying to make ends meet, but it has.
Here is a video I found at Sentry Journal that I thought my readers would enjoy:

My grandfather’s birthday is the same day. He actually received a letter from Ronald Reagan acknowledging their birthdays. If I can find it, I’ll scan and post it.

After reading about President Reagan, thought I would add a couple quotes to ponder. I think we would do well to listen to great men from the past to help us get thru what is happening today. Their words held wisdom, unlike the deceit that is going on now.
The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government lest it come to dominate our lives and interests. Patrick Henry 1736 – 1799
The Constitution of most of our states (and of the United States) assert that all power is inherent in the people; that they may exercise it by themselves; that it is their right and duty to be at all times armed and that they are entitled to freedom of person, freedom of religion, freedom of property, and freedom of press.” ~ Thomas Jefferson

Great quotes Lou, we would be better off as a nation if more Americans understood the founders concept of the relationship between the people and the government, but sadly too many people today rely on the government for their survival.

Well Steve, perhaps some of our elected officials have lost a few brain cells since those statements were made. Maybe the concept of what they stated is lost on them. Maybe they can’t comprehend what they said. I guess what I am saying is either we have become dumbed down OR we choose to ignore good advice. At this point maybe both apply. Maybe the elected officials of the past were more interested in the good of the country and not how they can take control of the American people. I know that is alot of “maybes”, but that is how I see it, at the moment.
