Video: Allen West gives history lesson to commemorate Black History Month
February 20, 2012
Somehow over the course of many years the Democrats have been able to portray themselves as the party responsible for all the gains made in the civil rights movement, while also painting the Republicans as the party who opposed these measures. But nothing could be further from the truth, as Allen West reminds us in the following video of a speech he made recently to recognize Black History Month.

We might in the extreme label the Democrat’s ‘paternal’ policy of ‘victimization’ as perhaps the closest thing to slavery since before the Civil War.
Rep. Allen West is one of the modern torch bearers of those black Americans who understand what has been done to Blacks as a result of the paternalistic policies of the Democrats.
Keeping a people ignorant, dependent and under-educated reeks of the very plantation system that blacks were forced to endure for almost 300 years. In essence the Democrats have unerringly taken on the mantle of the new slave masters.
If we defeat the Democrat’s progressive socialist agenda of ‘big brother’ paternalistic policies of slavery intended for all Americans, then Allen West and those of us Americans dedicated to fighting the socialist malaise will be remembered in the future as the true patriots, and the progressive liberal socialists remembered as the slave masters they really have been all along….WM

A great response! Thanks, though I doubt we have a chance of winning …. still, patriots try.

I agree with Josiahe: A great response! You have hit the nail on the head, by introducing policies which make it so easy not only for black Americans but for all Americans to simply give in and accept the government’s assurances that they cannot make it without government help they have, in effect, relegated people to involuntary servitude.

This demands some questions, a few of which are below:
1) Why is the RNC not paying for ads across the nation to publicize this in order to recruit black voters?
2) Why have others not requested this man throw his hat into the ring for President, as I have?
3) Have you read the book mentioned?
4) To Dennis’ readers: Have you forwarded this to your readers and friends?

Great questions! I can’t for the life of me figure out how the Republicans have let the Democrats carry the conversation on this issue for all of these years.

Josiahe – You are correct in questioning the Republican’s lack of initiative in taking message to black Americans. I don’t know if they intentionally shudder at the thought of a black political figure telling it like it is or are just so set in the arrogant ‘old boy’ syndrome that fails to except anything that they have not given the nod to.
If the election is lost it will be in part because the Republican party is clueless and because there are enough dependent and under-educated Americans who will believe any false promise made by a false messiah….WM

I think they are simply afraid to because of political reasons. They don’t want to be perceived as wanting to take away help from people who need it.

The GOP lost blacks when LBJ became president.
West is a great man. He shoots from the hip too much but he makes solid points.

A West-Rubio combo in any order and we could snag the White House. So close and yet what appears to be millions of miles away.

Yet we are left with the second tier candidates.

By the time we get to the convention, there will be no one left standing the rate we are going. Santorum just imploded.

Yeah he did! It may not be all his doing, but it will be his undoing.

A suitable analogy for the Republicans might be that the RNC, like the crew of the star ship Enterprise, are lost in another galaxy with Captain Kirk nowhere to be found….WM
