Barack Obama promises to double down on his green energy failures
As gas prices continue to climb at a remarkable pace Barack Obama gave a speech today on his energy policy and promised more of the same failed policies in the future.
A century of subsidies to the oil companies is long enough,” Obama said. “It’s time to end taxpayer giveaways to an industry that’s never been more profitable, and double-down on a clean energy industry that’s never been more promising
Never been more promising? This would be the same industry that gave us Solyndra, LightSquared, Beacon, Fisker, Tesla, SunPower, Ener1, and BrightSource; all failed “green energy” initiatives which gave billions of taxpayer dollars away to unsustainable companies. Companies which just happened to have high profile Democrat donors as major investors, by the way.
We must not forget that during the 2008 campaign Barack Obama promised his energy policies would necessarily cause energy prices to skyrocket, and we must not forget that Barack Obama’s Transportation Secretary, Ray LaHood, stated it was his goal to coerce people out of their cars, and let us also not forget that Barack Obama’s Energy Secretary, Steven Chu, stated that he wanted to see the gas prices in America reach the European level, or the fact that Barack Obama didn’t have a problem high gas prices under President Bush but he had wished they had risen more slowly so that the American people had a chance to adjust to them.
Recalling these positions we can easily assume that Barack Obama isn’t all that upset about rising gas prices or the effects it has on the average American, in fact we can assume that he just might be happy about it because he believes this will help him to promote his radical green energy initiative, and that is why he is willing to double down many on his policies when many people have come to the conclusion that his policies have failed.
But who judges failure? And what constitutes failure? If it is Barack Obama who is the judge and the jury regarding the failure or success of his policies, and if we look at what Barack Obama has said in the past, and if we look at what people within his regime have said in the past, it is easy to assume that Barack Obama feels as if his policies are working precisely as he had hoped they would. He might actually see the rising gas prices as a success story, why else would he be so willing to double down on this issue? He subscribes to Rahm Emanuel’s mantra about not letting a good crisis go to waste because it allows the government to do things it would otherwise be unable to do, and he intends to use this crisis to further his green jobs initiative.
But if it is the American people who are being hurt by Barack Obama’s green energy initiative who are sitting on the jury of public opinion, there can be no doubt that he has failed the American people on this issue and he needs to be held accountable in November because he just promised to keep pushing the same failed policies which have contributed to the rise in gas prices and the stifling of the economy.
I get it – he’s going to double his pleasure and double his fun of screwing with the American people….WM

It sure seems that way to me, the end justifies the means.

And he had to fly to Florida to tell us this??

The title of your post says it all, Steve. he has gotten his wish and now he wants to place the blame somewhere else. With all the new regulations on coal fired power plants and the mandates that utilities use more renewable energy, electricity cost are going to go through the roof too. That ought to help the sales of the Chevy Volt, don’t you think?

That is what he is banking on, after all the government does hold a stake in GM and Immelt is an economic advisor of Obama’s.

They are already starting the class warfare rhetoric: that Wall Street is causing the spike in prices.

But I thought the president controlled gas prices, isn’t that what the Dems said when Bush was president? 🙂

Two things… first he will play to his (idiotic) base. Second thing is he will cite higher gas prices as the reason why we need green energy/jobs.
That’s how he’ll spin it!

Harrison – You are completely right. That his been Obama’s plan all along and the “bleating” crowd follows like lambs on their way to the slaughter….WM

Sadly, this is his plan.

You are both right on the money, this was part of Obama’s plan all along and I just know that he really isn’t all that sad to see the gas prices rise.

That’s the plan Harrison, he is creating this crisis to move his green agenda forward. This is a win-win in his opinion.

Oh, the irony of it all. Mark my words, he will use this to his advantage to help his reelection bid. He will find some way to spin it to blame it on the fat cats in Wall Street.

He sure will use this to his advantage. This will be more of his class warfare–blaming the rich oils companies when his policies have been part of the problem.

What I would LIKE to say could theoretically get me arrested, so I won’t. This scum’s intent has been to destroy our nation from the earliest days. It is but a tool of those who want us ruined, and it is doing a pretty damn good job.

He promised to fundamentally change America, but nobody asked him what he meant by this. Now we are finding out the hard way.

It amazes me how this miserable communist piece of shit twists the facts on it’s failures to use them as positive points towards it’s reelection. It wanted to be a “really good one term pResident”. It has been the most horrendous in history, so now it wants to be reelected to fix everything it fucked up. Without the worry of reelection, how hard core would this shit go?

Thanks for spreading the word! If Obama ie reelected there is no telling what he might do once he doesn’t have to worry about running again and that is a scary thought.
