NBC fires nameless producer for editing George Zimmerman’s 911 call

April 7, 2012

There is an old, unwritten political axiom which goes like this; when you are a public figure, or entity, and you have bad news to make public you do it on a Friday night after the week’s news cycle has ended with the hope that by the time Monday rolls around the story will be forgotten.  (The Obama regime has made a habit of this with the Solargate and Fast and Furious scandals, but I digress.) And if the news is particularly damning, if it is at all possible, you withhold the news until a holiday weekend when it is even more likely that people are not paying attention. This is more commonly referred to as a Friday document dump. This axiom doesn’t hold true the way it once did with the emergence of the 24/7 cable news networks, but it is still a pretty effective way to bury a story that the person in question wants to remain hidden–especially on a holiday weekend.

Late last week NBC introduced its version of the document dump when someone at the station leaked to the New York Times that after an internal investigation some nameless producer has been fired for editing George Zimmerman’s 911 call. There was no official announcement, no press release, and no name, just a leak to the press.

NBC is still referring to this incident as a mistake which was made due to time constraints, but what legitimate, trustworthy news organization would alter a tape in such a way as to alter the meaning of a 911 call due to time constraints? There is no doubt that this was an intentional act motivated by a political agenda and now we are supposed to accept NBC’s apology and believe that some person without a name somewhere within the organization has been held accountable even though NBC itself hasn’t even bothered to release a statement about the supposed firing?

NBC made a huge story out of their edited 911 call and partly because of this the situation in Florida has become grave, and it isn’t only Florida which is affected because it is beginning to spread across the country; in Ohio a 78 year old man was beaten for being white, while his attackers shouted out that they were doing this for Trayvon. And at Ohio State’s Black Cultural Center someone spray painted on the wall “long live Zimmerman.” But when it came to NBC’s mea culpa they did it covertly and quietly even as the situation they helped to created begins to spiral out of control.

Meanwhile race baiters like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are fanning the flames of discontent based on these false news reports, and gun grabbers are calling for an end to ‘castle doctrine’ and ‘stand your ground’ gun laws in response to Trayvon Martin’s killing in light of the fact that we don’t know the facts of this case because it is still under investigation.

And speaking of the investigation; as Sanford prepares for a decision in the George Zimmerman investigation, how is it possible for Zimmerman to receive fair treatment at this point? Aren’t the police almost compelled to arrest George Zimmerman even if they don’t feel as if it is warranted in order to quell the potential uprising which would result if they were to absolve him of any wrongdoing?

My personal opinion about George Zimmerman is this; I do not believe that this was a raced based killing regardless of the portrayal in the mainstream media, however there is still a question as to whether or not Zimmerman was acting in self defense when he shot and killed Trayvon Martin.

But I think there is something that hasn’t been discussed which has been gnawing at me and that is this: if George Zimmerman had intended to kill Trayvon Martin in cold blood from the outset of this incident why did he call 911 BEFORE he shot Trayvon Martin?

This leads me to believe something unforeseen happened from the time he called 911 and the time he shot Martin, for why would he call 911 if he had intended to shoot Martin from the very beginning? This doesn’t not make sense to me and I have to believe it is a question the Florida investigators are looking into. But this is all speculation on my part and until the investigation is complete we will not know.

It is one thing for a small time blogger such as myself to speculate on the events leading up to Trayvon Martin’s death, but it is another thing altogether for respected news outlets such as NBC, CNN, and ABC to air nationally televised stories–from which they have been forced to backtrack–in a deliberate attempt to convict George Zimmerman in the court of public opinion, and without trial; and the stealth firing of some anonymous producer isn’t nearly enough to stem the uproar which these irresponsible stories have set in motion because there is simply no turning back now–it is too late.

If what I fear the most comes to fruition NBC, ABC, and CNN will be accessories before the fact to the violence which will shortly befall the nation.

The producer from NBC deserves to get fired. NBC and MSNBC have got to be the worst news organizations out there when compared to any other of the major American television and cable news sources.

There is no doubt that the producer deserves to be fired, but without a name or an official announcement how do we really know anyone got fired?

If NBC has any interest in regaining credibility, they should be making a very big deal out of this. They obviously don’t care.

C on F, didn’t know they had any credibility before this happened. News is news to them anymore, whether it is true or not, well, that is another story. We get told “someone” gets fired, but no name, sound fishy?

It’s all about creating the news now instead of reporting the news, even if you have to be a little creative. Kind of like CBS and Dan Rather and the fake documents. The news networks lost their credibility with my a long time ago but there are still people who take their reports as legitimate news stories.
It is very fishy that they won’t tell us who got fired.

No they don’t because they purposely edited the tape and their mission was accomplished, they achieved their goal and now they are only slightly pulling back in order to make themselves look credible.

You are precisely right. How do we know anyone was even fired? Given the blatant liberal partisanship of NBC., et al, plus the lack of journalistic integrity in that organization, anything offered by them is subject to question. NBC has become nothing more than a propaganda organ of the Obama regime….WM

We really don’t know if anyone was fired and judging by NBC’s actions I don’t think they have any credibility at this point. NBC cannot be trusted to do the right thing.

The head of NBC News should be fired for running such a crappy organization and presiding over that constant joke of a “news” agency that promotes lies: MSNBC

One guy gets fired but the Stooges still run the manor.

At least then we would know that NBC was taking this issue seriously but it is apparent they are not.

If anyone did get fired, it was probably just a messanger boy or secretary. Those monkeys running the show would never fire someone who was just doing what they love, stirring the racial pot.

I reserve comment on the whole affair also. Another Casey Anthony scandel and possibly another jury finding that the country won’t like, at least the real racists won’t like. NObama must love the scenario brewing over this. If a big enough bruhaha develops, he might get a shot at proclaiming Marshall Law. I really do think this is possibly his entire design lately, now that his reelection looks less and less likely.

Nobody of an importance was fired at NBC, I think we can easily make that assumption. And it is because this was an intentional act by NBC and they really aren’t sorry they did it, only that they were caught.

Joe, Martial Law could very well be what they are aiming for. Guess we will see in the very near future, especially with the Tulsa shootings now.

You are right Steve, I too, believe that violence will come before this story is finally buried and such an act or acts should be placed directly on the doorsteps of those like NBC and the other news networks that promoted what they saw as “American Racism” before the actual truth was reveiled. Sadly truth, if often the first victim of political correctness and its that PC that has blinded many who are charged with dispensing facts to the public. To paraphase an old saying “truth is end the eye of the beholder”, but when the beholder is blinded and bound by the forces of PC the veil will never be lifted and the beauty or uglyness behind it will remain hidden.

Very true Ron, the media isn’t concerned with the truth as it is, but with the truth as they wish it to be and they have crafted this story to fit their agenda. And they aren’t letting up either because they are now reporting that neo nazis are patrolling the area even though the police down there haven’t been able to confirm it.

Well, at least it made the news that the news was not what it appeared. Small step in an otherwise corrupt media. Of course, thanks to Fox, How much longer Fox will be useful remains to be seen.

This producer’s name and picture needs to be shown and aired on all news channels. The deceit and lies has got to stop.
