Group asks the DOJ to investigate how Obama campaign obtained stolen tax returns

April 29, 2012

On March 30th the Human Rights Campaign and the Huffington Post both published portions of The National Organization for Marriage’s confidential tax return in an attempt to expose people–primarily Mitt Romney–who have donated to the pro traditional marriage organization.

It goes without saying that stealing a tax return and publishing it is a crime, and NOM has asked Eric Holder’s Department of Injustice to investigate and prosecute whoever it is who is responsible for this crime. And that is where the story gets real interesting because it takes on added significance when you take into account one of Barack Obama’s reelection campaign co-chairs, Joe Solmonese, just happens to run Human Rights Campaign–the organization which first published the tax returns.

We have an organization which is run by Barack Obama’s reelection campaign co-chair publishing stolen tax returns in an attempt to expose causes that another candidate donated to in an attempt to alienate that candidate with a certain segment of the people, do we really expect Eric Holder to investigate this? Think New Black Panthers and voter intimidation.

Even if Joe Solmonese is investigated for this I expect him to use the same I-don’t-know-what-anyone-underneath-me-is-doing defense that Eric Holder has been using in the Fast and Furious scandal. And I could accept that argument because it is likely this could have been done without his knowledge–although it would be an amazing coincidence that the man he is helping to reelect benefitted from an article posted by an organization he runs–if it weren’t for the fact that this type of behavior seems to be an emerging pattern and an acceptable tactic by Barack Obama’s campaign.

As Larry from Political Realities reported yesterday: Keeping GOP Honest published a story which listed a couple of Mitt Romney’s donors and went on the attack against these people. These were private citizens–not public figures–whose only crime is that they became wealthy and didn’t donate to the right candidate. (Wasn’t it Democrats who said Sandra Fluke was a private citizen and should be left alone? Just asking.)

Keeping GOP Honest is paid for by Obama for America, a Barack Obama reelection campaign organization, do you see a pattern here? It appears as if the Obama campaign is in the process of creating an enemies list and that list includes private United States citizens who have chosen to either donate to Mitt Romney, or other Republican candidates and causes. And nothing is off-limits, even publishing stolen tax returns.

And apparently anyone can be a target; if you are donating to the wrong people the Obama campaign has no problem with looking into your background to see if there is anything there they can use against Mitt Romney by attacking you–it also serves as a nice little intimidation tactic for future donations. It is now quite evident that there is no limit to the depths Barack Obama and his campaign will sink to in order to discredit the accomplishments of private citizens if he feels it will help him retain power.

Private citizens are now legitimate targets.

Thanks for linking to my post.

Indeed, this is a dangerous path for us to trod. The President is supposed to be above the fray, but Obama’s Chicago-style politics simply will not allow for that. This is how he rolls, how he does business, so don’t expect it to stop, or even slow down. I suspect it will get worse.

You are welcome Larry and I fear you are right. We haven’t seen anything yet, Barack Obama is entrenched in the politics of dirty tactics and always has been. We needn’t look any further than the tricks he used to eliminate all his political opponent when running for state office in Illinois.

This has Axlerod written all over it. illegally obtaining and releasing private informatiin is his game going back to State Senator Obamas days.
You could write a novel on the vicous attacks agaisnt the Koch brothers (private citizens who employ hundreds of thousands but have different beliefs and contribute to such) by these dirty bastards.

You can be sure of one thing the MSM will not report on this expect maybe to disparage the Romney supporters.

I don’t expect there to be any investigation and if there is it will go nowhere, This will be the dirtiest elections ever and the MSM will only point out the low blows that come from the Romney campaign.

Exactly! The media will give Obama a free pass just like the last time and will attack Romney every chance they get.

Who watches the watchers? Apparently, no one who is opposed to “the one”.

Nothing will come of this except bad press, and that will be as fleeting as a goldfish’s memory.

So we do not forget, let me refresh the memory of Obama with his Illinois Senate seat win:

Thanks for the link Lou, Obama has been into nasty campaigning from the very beginning and there is nothing he won’t do to get what he feels is rightfully his.

Now then, on the other side we have the same geniuses who can’t locate Barry’s birth cert or college transcripts and if they did they would face a moral dilemma. Anyone out there expecting an investigation and/or a fair election I have a bridge for sale. As for Romney himself, another Freudian slip when he avers we are in a recovery but a slow one? What a chimp. It makes one long for the good old days of the hanging chad.

There will be no investigation and if there is this will be whitewashed. I read that Romney was going to soften his attacks; it looks like the Republicans have learned nothing from 2008.

Let’s add the college vote to his column along with the vaginal bare backers and the true believers of every ilk. You gotta’ give him and his handlers a world of credit. They are going to chew up Romney and spit him out like grizzle on a t-bone.

I read about this last week. I believe a few people were “peaking” into various peoples’ tax files and were quickly caught and fired. I have no doubt this won’t happen here.

This fits in with a pattern of intimidation against people who oppose Obama. You also might want to know that there is an effort by Obama supporters to publish the names of Romney donors in an attempt to intimidate possible future donors from withholding financial support.

Such are the tactics of the Left.

I have heard that as well Harrison and it appears as if Obama will do anything to get reelected, even if it means going after ordinary Americans. This is pure Chicago thuggery.
