New poll shows Scott Brown opening up a six point lead over Elizabeth Warren in the Massachusetts Senate race
This is certainly good news for the Republicans’ in their attempt at gaining control of the Senate in November; Scott Brown has now opened up a six point lead in the Massachusetts Senate race and is beginning to put distance between himself and the woman who once falsely claimed to be a Native American in order to advance her career using affirmative action, the woman who claims to be the intellectual foundation of the Occupy movement, and the architect of Barack Obama’s “you didn’t build that” comment–Elizabeth Warren.
I had been counting this seat as a loss for Republicans and coupled with the now likely loss of Todd Akin in Missouri after his moronic comments on rape and abortion figured it would be virtually impossible for the Republicans to gain control of the Senate. If these numbers hold up and Scott Brown is able to hold on to the ‘people’s seat’ it will greatly improve the Republicans’ chances of gaining control of the Senate.
And speaking of Todd Akin: Since Todd Akin made what might be the biggest political blunder of my lifetime Elizabeth Warren has been attempting to tie Scott Brown to the beleaguered Senate hopeful from Missouri in an attempt to paint Scott Brown as an extremist and a radical.
There is only one problem with this: Scott Brown was the first Republican to call for Todd Akin to step aside after his remarks and Scott Brown believes that Roe vs Wade is settled law and he happens to be a pro-choice Republican so this attempt is disingenuous to say the least. Martha Coakley tried to use basically the same line of attack during the special election in 2010. It failed then because it was a lie and it will fail this time around because, as this new poll shows, the voters of Massachusetts are not going to fall for such a blatant lie.
Voting with Democrats about 25% of the time Scott Brown might not be the conservative that many hoped he would be, but Republicans must ask themselves if they would prefer to support a candidate who will vote with them 75% of the time or a candidate who will vote with them 0% of the time.
The answer is clear; while Scott Brown my not be the perfect Republican he is representing one of the most liberal states in America and we are better off with him in the Senate than we are if Elizabeth Warren unseats him.
Elizabeth Warren must be defeated at all costs and Scott Brown appears poised to do so, he deserves our support in spite of differences we may have with him and if these poll numbers continue the Republicans’ chance at taking control of the Senate are greatly improved.

While I do not agree with what Todd Akin said and thought it was a stupid comment to make, I still don’t think it was any worse than alot of what the Democrats have said and gotten away with. I am not sure where he got his information and I really don’t want someone representing me that thinks that way, but the Missouri voters will have to make that decision, not the media or the rest of us. The difference is that the Republicans will call on their own to step down, while I don’t see that happening on the other side. Is it something bad enough that he should step down? It probably should be, but then again I am sure he already knows that. As to Scott Brown, I was disappointed in some of his votes when he got into office, I only hope that if he does win, he will become a bit more conservative, this time.

No, what Akin said wasn’t any worse than what Democrats have said in the past. Hell, Robert Byrd was a former leader of the KKK and the Democrats didn’t have a problem with him because he was one of them. Missouri will decided whether or not they can support him and that is how it should be.
Scott Brown is who he is and he called himself a ‘Massachusetts Republican’ when he was running against Coakley; this was a qualifier which meant that he wasn’t a strict conservative, I think that many onlookers from afar thought he was more conservative than he really was simply because he was a Republican. He is the best we can hope for out of Massachusetts at this point, although he will never be as conservative as we would like him to be.

This is very good news, Steve. The ladt thing we need is Elizibeth Warren in the US Senate. She has been pushing the new Consummer Protection Commission created by Dodd-Frank tp pressure banks by explaining to them that not lending to people who are uncredit worthy is racist if the people are black or Hispanic. She is dangerous!

I think what happened with Dances with Lies is simply once her true nature became known support dropped off. The fact her campaign seemed to do so well was only, I think, because many hardcore Liberals supported her so vocally.
But like all hardcore Liberal positions, once the population learns about them they are rejected.

I think you are probably right, she will have the support of the far left no matter what but perhaps her lying has cost her with the middle of the road people who voted for Brown the first time around but were thinking of voting for her this time.
