Harry Reid’s son involved in a Chinese solar panel company that received a sweetheart land deal in Nevada, while Harry Reid pressured NV Energy to become a customer
Harry Reid’s state of Nevada has received stimulus money for two green energy plants which filed for bankruptcy after receiving federal loan guarantees under the stimulus program. At the time these loans were awarded to these two companies it was well known the companies were in financial trouble and were expected to fold yet the money was awarded anyway in what appears to be an obvious instance of crony socialism designed to reward Democrat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid for his efforts to promote Barack Obama’s green energy initiative.
But wait, there’s more as can be seen here:
ENN is a Chinese based solar panel plant which is looking to build a $5 billion plant in, you guessed it, Nevada. Clark County officials approved the purchase of land in Nevada for the sum of $4.5 million even though the land was valued at almost $40 million.
Harry Reid then pressured NV Energy, the largest power company in Nevada, to become ENN’s first customer. Did he do this to ensure the company would be able to build in his state, or is there some other reason Harry Reid took such a vested interest in the company?
The latter seems to be the case in this instance. Sure, the company might be a boon to his state, and after all Senators are supposed to act in the best interests of their states, but it just so happens to be that Harry Reid’s son is a major player in ENN–he is the primary representative for the green energy company and he personally went to China to woo the company to Nevada. What a coincidence!
Harry Reid and his son deny ever talking to each other about the deal, but honesty, even if it is true did they have to talk to each other about it? The father knew what the son was up to and he pressured the state’s largest energy company to become a customer of a company his son was involved in after the company received a sweetheart land deal and we are supposed to believe that he did this without the best interests of his son in his mind? Are we to believe Harry Reid had nothing to do with the land deal either?
Is it any wonder so many people don’t trust the government or think that the government doesn’t have the interests of the people first and foremost in their minds?

So, Rory is following in his Daddy’s corrupt footsteps? He has had a very good teacher, there aren’t many as corrupt as Harry. Well, I will have to say maybe Gov. Blago here in Illinois is up there at the top, but Harry has had more time to fine tune his skills. Have ANY of the “green companies” that the government has pushed at us taken off and made any money? I can’t remember reading about any and we hear very little about the ones that fail, either unless they are on the internet and not by the media. What position did Rory run for out in Nevada and didn’t get elected? I am drawing a blank here.

No green energy company has really made it to date that I can remember, billions wasted and Obama is promising more if reelected. I can’t remember off the top of my head what Rory ran for.

In my years in new Mexico and Nevada I knew, worked with, and employed many Mormans. Harry Reid is the only Morman I have known who has no respect for the truth. The man can not be trusted!

Yes, if Romney is guilty until proven innocent for tax evasion and felonies than it is only fair that Reid be considered guilty until proven innocent on this. I Wish I had thought about that angle while I was writing this!

Now I don’t mean to sound cold here Steve but the good people of Nevada had their opportunity to get rid of this corrupt man two years ago and it wasn’t even close. So they are getting the representation they deserve. You reelect garbage in don’t be surprised when all you get is garbage out. Harry Reid is garbage.

You are 100% right John, Nevada should have sent this man packing in 2010 but they decided they liked what he was doing for them. So they get what they deserve. There were only a few disappointments after the 2010 election and this was won of them.

Great job with all this Steve!!! If my memory serves me right, didn’t Roaring Rory Reid run for governor….at least we stopped half the Reids!! Harry was able to manipulate the election he wanted with Angle and with the help of our current Attorney General and the trumped-up Grand Jury investigation of Krolicki that was thrown out of court!! By the way and way, the same attorney general went to Reid for funds to help pay her campaign costs shortly afterward….too bad Harry won’t use the same energy to help the country as he does to line his own pockets!

Duncan, I knew he had run for something, but could not remember, sounds right on Governor. Glad he didn’t make it. Some people are just plain crooked, I think Harry fits that bill. Now you need to work on getting him out of office, but being from the crooked state of Illinois, I know that is hard when there is corruption involved.

Like Lou I knew Rory had run for some office but couldn’t remember which one. At least Nevada beat one of them, hopefully that is a sign of things to come next time father is up for reelection. I didn’t know that about Reid and the AG, sounds like this man is just corrupt all around.

This was very interesting. As far as Reid’s sons don’t forget the one who applied for city attorney in Hendeson Nevada where the qualifications for the position were revised to so he would qualify for the position. The acorns do not fall far from the tree.
