Hillary Clinton takes responsibility for Libya security failures

October 15, 2012

Breaking news at this hour: Hillary Clinton has just taken responsibility for the security failures which led to the death of Chris Stevens and three other Americans.

I take responsibility” for the protection of U.S. diplomats, Clinton said during a visit to Peru. But she said an investigation now under way will ultimately determine what happened in the attack that left four Americans dead

This is as it should be; Hillary Clinton is in charge of the State Department and her State Department ignored both warnings an attack was imminent and pleas for more security from the now deceased Chris Stevens. She is responsible and she can no longer deny it.

Yet she is not resigning for the most egregious error she could have committed as Secretary of State, while going out of her way to mention that Barack Obama is not to blame for this failure?

She also mentioned that the investigation is still ongoing and that new information is coming in all the time, so they still don’t know what happened on September 11th. If this is true why did Barack Obama not think it inappropriate to declare this was a protest of a You Tube video when he addressed the United Nations two weeks after the attack if the investigation was not complete, and he knew within 24 hours there was no protest in front of the consulate in Libya?

Sounds to me like she is simply trying to provide Barack Obama with cover heading into tomorrow’s debate, probably in return for some face saving measure. The cover up continues…..

Unfortunately, this weak admission is very lacking in ownership in 2 areas. 1. I believe Hillary is attempting to move this as an issue away from Obama’s upcoming debate, as he will now have an answer to the question “what happened and who’s responsible”, and can be immediately doled off on Hillary, although ultimately Obama is in charge, and responsible for everything. 2. Even though she’s stating that she takes full responsibility, she appends the “we still don’t know what really happened and are continuing to investage” as if there is anything that they can find to relieve the fact that several requests were made for security and were denied.

This was a political move before the debate in my opinion but Romney can still hammer on Obama about lying and covering up the truth.

Whatever happened to Obama making the statement that the buck stopped with him? I thought that was his motto?

But of course, he has no intention of allowing the buck to get anywhere close to him. Since he hasn’t been attending his daily security briefings, he can easily deny any knowledge of what happened in Libya and when his administration discovered the protest wasn’t really a protest.

Honestly, I am surprised Hillary Clinton is allowing herself to be pushed under the bus on this. I’ll bet there is much more going on behind the scenes than us peons know about.

I am surprised Hillary did this as well, there is no doubt there is more to this story than what we are being told. Some type of promise must have been made behind the scenes.

Once one sees the video of her and her blaming it on the “fog of war”……??? What fog, what war.
