Karl Rove backs a group which seeks to bring down the Tea Party
The ruling class elitist Republicans in Washington are splintering and falling apart and the future of the party looks bleak. These elitists are very concerned and fearful of losing their power–because that is all they give a damn about, they don’t care about the people–and have begun to try to pull the party back together.
Unfortunately people like John Boehner, in Nancy Pelosi-like style, is attempting to do this by force by removing conservatives from committee seats as a warning to others in the party who would go against his leadership while threatening others with a worse fate if this didn’t teach them a lesson.
Now a new group backed by Karl Rove called the Conservative Victory Project is on the scene. The name of this group sounds great but don’t be fooled because it isn’t what it seems to be.
This group is being set up to help ensure that those ruling class elitists in Washington remain in Washington:
The biggest donors in the Republican Party are financing a new group to recruit seasoned candidates and protect Senate incumbents from challenges by far-right conservatives and Tea Party enthusiasts who Republican leaders worry could complicate the party’s efforts to win control of the Senate.
The group, the Conservative Victory Project, is intended to counter other organizations that have helped defeat establishment Republican candidates over the last two election cycles. It is the most robust attempt yet by Republicans to impose a new sense of discipline on the party, particularly in primary races.
Basically this group wants to control who actually runs for office instead of letting the people decide in the primaries. They want two horses in the race that they approve of so that, in their minds, they can’t lose. And you can image they have no interest in supporting Tea Party or constitutionalist candidates because this is who they find to be a threat to their power.
Here is what the president of this new group had to say:
There is a broad concern about having blown a significant number of races because the wrong candidates were selected, we don’t view ourselves as being in the incumbent protection business, but we want to pick the most conservative candidate who can win
He feels they lost the races because the people chose the wrong candidate and now this group is looking to protect the party from the people because the people cannot be trusted in their opinion and keeping power is all they care about.
He may not like to admit it but this group is in the incumbent protection business. What these people fail to realize is that if the incumbents were properly representing their constituents they wouldn’t be in trouble in the first place, but these elitists like Karl Rove don’t care about that.
There is no doubt that there were a couple of really bad candidates in the last election, but they were put there by people who were, and still are, fed up with the way things are run in Washington and they were trying to do something about it and this isn’t going to help bring these people back into the fold–in fact it will push them away.
The same people that this group would seek to help are the same people who really wouldn’t be any better than the Democrats they will be competing against. What this group means by “most conservative candidate who can win” really means “the most liberal Republican the base will accept.” That is quite a difference and it really hasn’t worked in the past–IE John McCain and Mitt Romney–so they want to try it again? What is that definition of insanity?
And one of their first targets appears to be Republican Representative Steve King for they fear he may make a Senate run and they don’t want anyone who is outspoken challenging the elitists in Washington. Fall in line or say goodbye, that is John Boehner’s and Karl Rove’s mantra.

From county clerks to the presidency, my advie is if the Republicans do’t put up a conservative candidate, conservatives should not vote for the Republican candidate. Period. If that means the Republccans lose the House, so be it. It is the only way they are going to learn, if they evever learn.

Many conservatives stayed home instead of voting for Romney and they still haven’t learned. I don’t think they ever will.

I think that only way that Republicans will listen is if the Libertarian presidential candidate pulls 2%-3% of the vote and that party gets more than a few outliers.

This is why I’m soooooo done with the Republican Party Steve. They’re as corrupt as the democrats and want to achieve the same goals…power and control.

oh, they learn that they can make money win or lose..and they make more money being the underdog. so if losing = profit! and you don’t care what happens to the country so long as you can convince desperate people to give you money to fix it..
another reason to let the republican party go the way of the Whigs..

Exactly, they do have priorities. It’s just that their priority is doing what is best for themselves, and not what is best for the people or for the country.
