February 24, 2013

Here is the open thread for Sunday, February 24th; please free to leave links to interesting articles and to discuss whatever issues arise during the course of the day. Nothing is off topic here.

Well, all week we were told there was another major storm bearing down on us and we should prepare for the end of the world but it didn’t quite turn out that way. We are now only getting a little bit of snow and some rain, I guess that is what happens when you live in New Hampshire so I thought I would lighten it up today and share a video entitled “A Granite State of Mind.”

  Enjoy

Move over 9th Circuit Court and make way for the New Jersey State Supreme Court. Last week in a unanimous 5-0 decision the court ruled in favor of a pregnant woman’s right to smoke crack cocaine two days before giving birth and thereby having no responsibility for the newborn’s possible addiction. In essence the ruling says her right to smoke crack cannot be infringed upon, that she should be free to do so at her own discretion. I am not a legal scholar and I may be interpreting this erroneously but it would seem to even those of us with a public school education that the next person in New Jersey arrested for crack possession and or use has precedent for false arrest or in the least will be found not guilty?
What is next for this once proud state, our once proud country?

I guess her right trumps the life of her baby and also the fact that crack is illegal? Insane!

Another topic: Kansas Givernor Sam Brownback on Fox discussing the upcoming sequestration and its implications as well as what needs to be done. He is one of the good guys but as with all other interviewees the elephant in the room is left out of the conversation: Our socialist president’s sequestration strategy and his using it to harm America and thereby further marginalize the Republican Party.

Brownback is one of the few good guys out there. Obama cares more about killing the Republican party than he does about the American people.
