Democrat sponsor of high capacity magazine ban doesn’t even know what a high capacity magazine is
Diana DeGette is a Representative from Colorado and she is leading the charge in the Congress to ban high capacity magazines. Recently she was asked how banning high capacity magazines would help to curb gun violence and this is what she had to say:
I will tell you these are ammunition, they’re bullets, so the people who have those now, they’re going to shoot them. So if you ban them in the future, the number of these high-capacity magazines is going to decrease dramatically over time, because the bullets will have been shot and there won’t be any more available
She believes that if the Congress bans high capacity magazines now they eventually will not be available because people will have shot them all. She obviously has no clue what she is talking about as she doesn’t understand that magazines can be reused once they are emptied.
This would be laughable if it weren’t for the fact that she is leading the charge on this issue and she has no idea what the hell she is supporting.

A high-capacity magazine would be one like The Atlantic Monthly. A low-capacity magazine is Reader’s Digest. Simple!

She probably threw away her Obama phone after using her 250 minutes.

What, she couldn’t “reload” her minutes?

Yeah. The minutes would have been talked and you couldn’t be using them no more. Who ever said, morons need not apply for elected office?

The sad thing is there are low-info people that will take her at her word. We are in trouble as long as these low-info people have their ears open to this crap. She should brush up on her gun/ammo etiquette a bit more before she opens her mouth.

You are right, there are too many people out there who are not paying close attention and these are the people she is talking to.

I think you are the ones that misunderstand. When I read it I come away with she is talking about the ammo that goes in them not being available. The mags will go away because they will be useless

It could be interpretted that way but I don’t think that is what she meant because nobody is talking about banning the ammo. Does she know something we don’t…..

Her spokesman came out and said she meant clips…no misunderstanding, but fools are welcome to the fray!

The way I took it, B, was that once the “magazine” was emptied, it would be thrown away. Guess she was not aware you could use them more than “once”. The part that is questionable was “there won’t be any more available”, anymore what? Ammo or magazines, there is a bit of a difference there At any rate, she doesn’t know what she is talking about, that is obvious….I imagine she has her talking points and to her, what she said made sense. People like her are dangerous.

That is exactly what she was saying Lou, and to think that she is a major backer of a bill she doesn’t even understand is very scary.

Well, Steve, look at all the backers of Obamacare, did they understand it? I doubt they even looked at it, well, I mean I KNOW they did not look at it. NOW, there are some Dems coming out asking WTF with Obamacare. Too late!

So very true Lou, it is a little too late to question Obamacare, isn’t it. Wouldn’t it be nice if these people at least knew what the hell they were supporting?

She had no idea what the hell she was talking about, I did look at the possibility that Earl pointed out but when you listen to her it is clear what she was saying.

“How do you use up a wrench?” Well the same way all the magazines will be used up; if we throw them at each other of course!
The sad part is, for all this money and effort we’re wasting on this preposterous bit of legislation; what will have been accomplished? The vast majority of weapons that will be affected will only be those of the legitimate law abiding gun owner. The weapons used to actually commit most firearm related crime are unregistered or illegally obtained. I’m fairly certain that the criminals using them in crime will be absolutely terrified to find that they are breaking the law by using assault weapons with pistol grips, folding stocks and various other heinous devices. More than likely they really won’t care and we’ll have just wasted time and money that could have been better spent on important things like educating our politicians beyond a third grade level.

I think they know it will not affect the criminals, they want the guns and ammo from US. That has always been their goal. If they only achieve a small part of what they set out to get, it still puts them further ahead than before. That is how they are playing this game. Yes, it is a game to them. We are the sorry suckers that abide by the laws and it will be the laws that take our freedoms away in the end. IF, we let them continue doing what they are doing, that is. We have the ability to stop them, we just have to start thinking like them in how WE play their game. We have to take a “don’t give a damn” attitude when it comes to what they think of us. Let them call us names, last I thought about it, WORDS don’t hurt you. You now the old, “Sticks and stones will break my bones, but WORDS will never hurt me”….maybe we need to go back to that old childhood saying.

In a way they don’t even want to curb the violence because it is very useful to their agenda, which is control. That is why all the proposals punish the law abiding people and don’t even touch the criminals.
