A woman believes she was targeted by the IRS for writing anti-Obama articles

May 18, 2013

According to this article Anne Henderhott, who writes for the Catholic publication ‘Aleteia’ believes she may have been audited by the IRS for writing anti-Obama articles:

“I have no proof of it being a political audit,” Hendershott said. “Only the curious circumstance surrounding it. My husband and I have been married for 39 years and never have been audited before. It was odd that [the agent] only wanted to talk with me–although he said I could bring our tax accountant… All of the questions focused on who was paying me for the articles.”

“He kept asking me who was paying me: ‘Who paid you to write this one?’ and ‘What did you get paid for that?’” she claimed.

She admits she has no proof her audit was politically motivated but in light of the recent IRS revelations it is not beyond the realm of possibility that this was indeed the case.

She was so intimidated by the IRS audit that she stopped writing articles which she felt led to the audit in the first place:

Hendershott said she felt so intimidated by the IRS agent that she stopped writing on some topics she believed may have triggered the call from the agency in order to avoid placing her family in a difficult position

So while she had no idea what the IRS was up to at the time she knew instinctively that something was wrong and she changed what she was doing in order to avoid future audits. Mind you that she did not feel she had to change anything related to taxes to avoid future audits by the IRS, but rather her political writings.

There is no doubt in my mind at this point that the IRS and the Obama regime accomplished what it set out to do in this case, stifle the opposition, chalk another one up to the Obama regime before the 2012 election…..

Methinks she was not imagining things when she wondered if her audit was politically motivated. So much for freedom of speech.

Same here Larry, at the time she had no idea about the scandal yet she knew enough to back away drom criticizing Obama, that tells me all I need to know. There is no doubt in my mind Obama was using the IRS to target political opponents almost from the beginning.

In this case it is possible that the IRS agent was looking for a excuse to audit it the Catholic church and challenge its tax free status. Just a thought…

It’s like the Gestapo or something.

Reminds me of that satirical song California Über Alles:

    Now it is 1984
Knock knock at your front door
    It’s the suede/denim secret police
They have come for your uncool niece

    Come quietly to the camp
You’d look nice as a drawstring lamp
    Don’t you worry, it’s only a shower
    For your clothes here’s a pretty flower¡

    Die on organic poison gas
    Serpent’s egg’s already hatched
You will croak, you little clown
When you mess with president brown

Well, as cons and T-Party types like to say when it comes to other forms of profiling, if the lady’s got nothing to hide, she’s got nothing to fear – isn’t that the case when it comes to driving while black or walking the street and being stopped to produce your papers?

The New Federalist Party is finalizing our article on immigration right now and it will be released shortly, when it is you can see my position on this issue but rest assured, we are not calling for people to be stopped on the streets for no reason other than to show papers.
I shouldn’t even have to say this but of course I do not support pulling a person over for the color of his skin or stopping a person who is doing nothing wrong to ask for their papers and it is actually insulting that you would make the inference, but that is your right.
Keep defending the agency that admitted it was wrong.
