House Committee to investigate Eric Holder for perjury
According to this article the House Judiciary Committee is looking to see if Eric Holder perjured himself while under oath in front of the Congress when he stated two weeks ago that he had never even heard of any journalists being investigated by the Department of Injustice for committing crimes simply for trying to report the news.
This is what Eric Holder had to say back then:
In regard to potential prosecution of the press for the disclosure of material. This is not something I’ve ever been involved in, heard of, or would think would be wise policy
But then came the report which stated the Department of Injustice has confirmed that Eric Holder was deeply involved in the decision to secretly monitor James Rosen’s emails with the possibility of charging him as a co-conspirator under the Espionage Act and it seems all but certain Eric Holder told a little fib while under oath.
Barack Obama has already basically told Eric Holder to investigate himself in this matter, but Eric Holder has already been held in Contempt of Congress for failing to adequately comply with the Fast and Furious scandal and his Injustice Department has predictably refused to pursue the charges, so I think we know how this internal investigation will go.
Hopefully the House Judiciary Committee is willing to take this all the way because it seems to me as if the walls are closing in on Eric Holder and there is no way in light of Contempt and perjury that the top law enforcement agent in the nation should be able to keep his job. He has lost whatever credibility he once might have had.
Barack Obama might have saved him the first time be evoking Executive Privilege to seal subpoenaed Fast and Furious documents but I do not see how Barack Obama can ride in on a white horse like a knight in shining armor and save him a second time.
Now wait a minute, I’m confused: Did tricky Dick first hear about it from the same news report as ol’ floppy ears or did ol’ floppy ears first hear about it from the same news report as tricky Dick? Our current lieing sack of shit occupying the WH has a clear advantage in that the MSM will do its best to help him beat the rap: hey Tom can you get me off the hook just this one time … For old times sake? Sorry Sally, can’t do it. – exchange between Tom Hagen and Sal Tessio in The Godfather. Where is Michael Corleone when we need him most?

That is all too true Peter, the biggest difference between then and now is the fact that Nixon had a hostile media looking to take him down while Obama has a friendly media looking to protect him. In fact the word “friendly” is to kind, in reality he has a propaganda arm in the media looking to spin this as an unfair attack.

Actually I kind of hope he hangs around. The night time comedians are mocking the situation. Best thing to happen for us.

That is a good point, with the late night guys finally mocking the regime it is bringing to light issues that most of the people who watch these shows would otherwise no nothing about. Plus, if Holder goes it will probably end any chance we have of connecting these scandals to Obama.

I can’t see how what Holder has done could be considered anything except perjury. He flat-out lied about the warrant on to seize James Rosen’s emails and he did it to Congress.

I think it is obvious as well Larry, I think he is on borrowed time this time around.

I’m like bunkerville, the longer this goes the better for our side. But then, Obama just might see the handwriting on the wall and toss Holder under the bus. Watergate pales next to all these scandals, but I just can’t see Obama resigning no matter how hot the water gets. But that is a way that is also good with the mid-term elections coming next fall.

I agree, I have to think that at this point in time Obama is weighing his options and in the end he will throw Holder under the bus to protect himself.

Irony of ironies, AG John Mitchell was Nixon’s lackey and paid dearly while AG Eric Holder is Obama’s bagman and at worst will leave with a sizeable givernment pension.

Hopefully there will be a way to stop that pension if he is forced to resign for perjury.

I don’t know how he survives this Steve. He should have resigned after he was held in contempt. But the man has no integrity and no shame so you never know where this will go.

I don’t see him surviving this, especially if it looks like it will hurt Obama, but like you said we have no idea where this will end up. I wouldn’t put it passed him to double down at all.

Once Axelrod figures the how to frame Obama as a tough leader whose integrity was challenged by his long time friend Holder’s misguided strategy for protecting the national security then the ax will fall.

Exactly!

Obama won’t fire him, I think, and the press won’t demand his resignation. Basically, a great example of a double standard.
He survived Fast & Furious, after all.

You are right, he should have been gone after Fast and Furious so I shouldn’t get my hopes up here. But it is fun to dream.

I think there is so much dirt they all have on each other, no one is willing to make the first move….maybe they are hoping to ride this one out, as well. You know the “public” has a very, very, very short attention span, they are banking on it! Are they are guilty? Absolutely! Will anything come from this? Who the hell knows at this point. If we say one way or the other, we are just speculating .I have never seen so much “lack” of integritity and conscience in my life.
