Barack Obama is crafting the “Gang of Eight” immigration bill, Rubio aide claims there are too many worthless American workers

June 17, 2013

While we have been told that the immigration reform bill being crafted by the “Gang of Eight” is a bipartisan effort we are now learning it is anything but. Barack Obama is crafting the immigration bill with the help of four Republican dupes who should know better by this point in time. Nothing is being inserted into this bill which Barack Obama does not approve of:

“‘No decisions are being made without talking to us about it,’ the official said of the Gang of Eight negotiations … ‘This does not fly if we’re not O.K. with it,’” a senior Obama official told author Ryan Lizza for the pending article.

The article linked to above also goes on to claim that Barack Obama is purposely keeping a low profile on this so that the rest of the GOP will not realize how much influence he has had in crafting this legislation.

Meanwhile Republicans such as Lindsey Graham and Marco Rubio are playing right into the president’s hand. Lindsey Graham claimed that if the Republicans block immigration reform they will be “in a demographic death spiral” and will  lose the presidency in 2016, proving once and for all something that I have been saying for awhile now: The Republicans are only interested in doing what they think is best for the party and not what is best for the country.

John over at Sentry Journal did a brilliant job debunking the narrative that the Republicans cannot win if they do not pass immigration reform in this article. The Latino vote accounted for less than 10% of the vote in 2012, and as John points out the Republicans are in no danger of losing the Latino vote because they never had it in the first place. You cannot lose something that you never had.

Are we to believe that if Barack Obama makes good on his promise to sign immigration reform that the Republicans will somehow get the credit instead of Barack Obama and win over the Latino vote? That is what Lindsey Graham would have us believe. I believe the Republicans will lose more votes than they will gain if they vote for this bill and I think the Republicans should have learned this lesson when conservatives decided to stay home instead of voting for faux Republican Mitt Romney.

And then there is the following statement made by a Marco Rubio aide:

“There are American workers who, for lack of a better term, can’t cut it,” a Rubio aide told Lizza. ‘“There shouldn’t be a presumption that every American worker is a star performer. There are people who just can’t get it, can’t do it, don’t want to do it. And so you can’t obviously discuss that publicly,” said the aide.

President Bush, when pushing for immigration reform, used to be fond of saying that these immigrants are only going to do the jobs that American citizens will not do. That is a statement that always bothered the hell out of me because I believe that when push comes to shove there is no job an American will not do when it come to taking care of his or her family. I found that comment to be very insulting to the American people and now we have an aide to Marco Rubio echoing the same sentiment. I guess we now know how Marco Rubio feels about the American worker.

People like Lindsey Graham and Marco Rubio are being played for fools by Barack Obama and the Democrats, and to be honest it is not hard to do because that is exactly what they are. They are in the process of hammering in the death nail of the Republican party and they are too stupid to realize it.

This is precisely why it is time for a new option, the Republicans and the Democrats do not care about anything other than scoring political points even at the expense of the American people, and that is why everyone should click on the link to the right and check out the New Federalist Party.

I totally agree. The GOP senate should protect the house members and not let the bill pass and wind up over there. All of the house will be up in 2014 and this issue is what they will use to reclaim the house. Ignorant Rubio McCain and the rest of them.

If this bill passes the Democrats will make huge gains in the House as conservatives stay home again, and there response will be to move even more to the left. They are on the verge of falling apart as a party and they do not even realize it.

We have the first twenty article of our platform finalized and up ready to view. The last thirteen are sill in the works. It is a long, slow process but if this bill passes and people get more fed up with the Republicans we will have an opportunity to make waves. I honestly think the American people are ready for a new option, we just have to get the word out there!

Steve when you have far left Senators like Dick Durbin, Robert Menendez, and Chuck Schumer all in on this bill, how can Republicans actually believe they’re in it to improve Republican chances in the next election. And now we find out Obama is in the shadows guiding the direction this bill is moving in. I mean come on guys. Wake up! Surely Steve the Republicans can’t be this stupid? Or can they? And as for Rubio…well if he throws his lot in with this group he’s done. He will never garner the support of the base.

You wouldn’t think the Republicans could be this stupid but apparently they are. they have bought into the post election analysis and are being played as fools. I think we can call them useful idiots at this point.
As for Rubio, I think he entered this with good intentions but his mistake was trusting the Democrats in the first place and now he is trapped. His political career is over and I wonder if he even realizes it.

Hi Steve, I’m back! I live in Florida and Rubio was an excellent State Senator. I went to see him speak twice at luncheons and got to shake his hand. He has told us himself that he is the son of Cuban immigrants. That alone carries a lot in South Florida where it’s 90% Hispanic. He’s trying to do the right thing, but has gotten off track. We are sorely disappointed at the mode he’s in, as he will not STOP!!! He’s very determined to help in immigration issues.

Welcome back! I had such high hopes for Rubio but I started to get worried about him before the 2012 election when he started talking about immigration reform and now he seems to be all in this even if it means mot securing the border. I am so disappointed in him right now and I know you must be as well.

A commenter on my blog said it best. Marco Rubio is a young man and his inexperience is showing. He has been completely outgunned in this entire process.

Rubio must have sold his soul to get elected. Now he is taking out a second mortgage with Sen Screwtape to become his Wormwood stooge.

Rubio as a babe in the woods is a crock of shit. He is astute enough to sit on the fence knowing full well he can switch parties if need be to retain power. Anyone believing that the interest of the american citizen enters into this immigration equation is more than just a fool. If any consideration at all is given to us
it is at the very bottom of the proverbial list. We are set up as the losers as in anything this government, in the hands of those whose self interest precludes their protecting our rights, our freedoms, shoves down our throats. Obamacare, Obamaamnesty, Obamaland; thanks to the moral cowardice prevalent on both sides of the aisle, this is the inheritance we leave to our children and grandchildren.

Maybe he has it in the back of his mind that he can switch parties if he has to, he is all in this right now and it is very disappointing that all these people are looking at their political interests above everything else. Our children are the ones who will be screwed by this!
