Harry Reid on the Zimmerman verdict: “this isn’t over with”
The sixth amendment of the Constitution grants all Americans the right to a speedy trial by a jury of his or her peers. George Zimmerman was afforded this right and he was found not guilty by a jury of his peers.
I understand that there are many people out there who feel as if justice was not served because George Zimmerman was allowed to walk away after killing Trayvon Martin but the fact is that there was simply not enough evidence to rule beyond a reasonable doubt that Zimmerman did not act in self-defense so the verdict was the only one which could be reached. The system worked in this case whether or not you agree with the outcome.
But because the left turned this into a political issue before the election the result is unacceptable to many people within the Federal Government. Harry Reid offers us the perfect example of this when he claimed that while he “supports the system” the Federal Government is not through with this case.
He expects, as do I, the Department of Injustice to investigate this case to see if Federal charges can be brought forth against George Zimmerman. I fully expect the Department of Injustice to drum up more charges against George Zimmerman, probably on the lines of this being a hate crime, so while Harry Reid claims to support the system nothing could be further from the truth. And he is not alone.
We are living is scary times when the Federal Government does not support the Constitution or the verdict rendered in a criminal State trial. These people will stop at nothing to accomplish their goals and what rights do we really have if the Federal Government decides on its own that the verdict rendered by a jury of a person’s peers should be null and void because the Federal Government disagrees with it for purely political reasons?

I just read a post that quoted Al Sharpton as saying he and the Feds always had a Plan B, in case they didn’t get the verdict they wanted. Sounds like a lot of people had that same thought.

Yep, they are not going to accept this verdict laying down. They will do whatever it takes to push their agenda!

Sounds like what they are doing on gun control, it is not over and they will keep coming back until they get what they want.

Gun control is on the agenda once again and we will be ready for it just like we were the last time. I hope…..

What ever happened to the double jeopardy law?

The Feds cannot try him on the same charges, which is why they will drum up new charges. Probably hate crime violations or something else.

I think I found the answer, and it’s definately pushing an agenda:
From obama’s speach after the decision:
“We should ask ourselves if we’re doing all we can to widen the circle of compassion and understanding in our own communities. We should ask ourselves if we’re doing all we can to stem the tide of gun violence that claims too many lives across this country on a daily basis,” Obama said. “We should ask ourselves, as individuals and as a society, how we can prevent future tragedies like this. As citizens, that’s a job for all of us. That’s the way to honor Trayvon Martin.”
Does anything more need to be said?

That says it all, Obama will use this to push more gun control while ignoring the violence in Chicago because even with some of the most strict laws in the nation Chicago remains one of the most violent cities in the nation.

How ironic that the party of the radical 60’s peaceniks bent on destroying the government are now in control of that very government and in the heights of hypocrisy are using it to succeed in its advocacy of its latest breach of our freedoms, double jeopardy. A trial by a jury of our peers may well be the latest domino to fall under the left’s incrementalism approach towards destroying what we historically took for granted. How long before we have one set of rules for whites and one for blacks and Hispanics? And what happens when it is uncovered that Hispanics, other than those born as a result of miscegenation, are Caucasians? Actually this can work in favor for a government doing its best to divide and coquet its own populace. When applying for handouts we may be asked to declare black, Asian, white, black-Hispanic, white-Hispanic, other-Hispanic, native american-hispanic. How about white mulatto, black mulatto; the combinations are endless. Imagine the fun we can have with jury gerrymandering?

Yes, the decided that the best way to beat the system was to join it and change it from within and that is what we are now seeing.

Exactly so.

I think this pretty much states obamas thoughts on the verdict. Why talk about gun control if he didn’t believe the verdict was wrong himself, as well as tossing another dart at the gun control issue itself..

Exactly, he opened the door again and we know the gun grabbers will walk through it.

Zimmerman needs to leave the US or enter his own witness protection program. Move from Fl change his name etc.

Chris, WHO controls the witness protection program? Would he be safe there or would he be at the mercy of the wolves? Just asking….I think the “leave the US” sounds like the best plan, but probably not easily done.

I said his “own” , because I would not trust any government person especially the DOJ which administers the WPP. True it is not easy but what is your life worth? Zimmerman has a target on his back. The prospect of never ending lawsuits and their cost should help anyone to decide. There are several websites/individuals for people to use if they want to disappear.

That is a great point Lou, at this point we really cannot trust any government agency.

I agree Chris, he may have won this case but I think his life is in danger.

Steve this is beyond scary times if every other day there is another threat to our civil liberties and there is no push back.
In order to make the necessary changes to the American society the left needs an unarmed citizenry. Zimmerman was/is going to be another scapegoat to push their narrative that people should not have guns. Remember OB and his ilk believe you never want a serious situation to go to waste and might makes right.

You are right about unarming the citizens and the left will exploit every single case they can find in order to promote gun control.

Reblogged this on Cmblake6's Weblog and commented:
This is just such unbelievable bullshit. Sure, had Zimmerman just let it go and perhaps just let the cops deal with it, it wouldn’t have gone as it did. As it is/was, it didn’t turn into a shooting until “our little angel”, Trayvon, was sitting on Zimmerman’s chest beating his head against the curb. At this point, Zimmerman had every right to be “in fear for his life”. Should he have been there? Probably not. Since he was there, and shit went as it did, did he have the right to defend himself? Yes. Cops at the site said it was a clean shoot. Politics reared it’s head, and here we go. This is, as I said, such incredible witch hunt bullshit as to justify the riots. But not citizen vs citizen, it is a citizen vs politician battle. The trial happened, the verdict was reached, it’s done. According to the Constitution, anyway. Oh, but that doesn’t matter in the political world, what was I thinking?

Thank you and you are right; while Zimmerman probably should have not followed him it was Trayvon who turned around and became the aggressor and once that happened Florida law says he has the right to defend himself.

You are exactly right Jim, the left thought they had a white on black crime they could exploit and once they found out there was no white person involved they were already had too much invested in this story to back down.
No worries about the commenting Jim, I just hope you are fully back up and running soon. It must be so frustrating!

It seems Holder is trying to foment racial tensions by dragging his feet on considering charging Zimmerman with civil rights violations. Just as OB can’t do foreign affairs he can’t do domestic affairs. The MSM are fanning the flames of racial tension.
Instead of looking for jobs too many people have invested an inordinate amount of time listening to the case. They are totally ignorant of laws and legal procedures. They think this is a reality TV program where they get to vote for the winner.
