Obamacare: IRS employee union looks to exempt IRS employees from the Affordable Care Act
This story is just too good to pass up: You may remember that not too long ago Harry Reid and John Boehner were in discussions to exempt members of the Congress and their aides from Obamacare. In response to this move House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp introduced legislation which would ensure that Federal employees would not be exempt from Obamacare. In other words, they would also have to live under the rules they wish us all to live under.
Camp has long believed every American ought to be exempt from the law, which is why he supports full repeal,” Camp spokeswoman Allie Walker said.
“If the Obamacare exchanges are good enough for the hardworking Americans and small businesses the law claims to help, then they should be good enough for the president, vice president, Congress and federal employees
That sounds fair enough to me, but an IRS employee union does not like this idea one bit and has been sending out a form letter which they are asking their members to send to the Congress. Here is what the letter says:
“I am very concerned about legislation that has been introduced by Congressman Dave Camp to push federal employees out of the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program and into the insurance exchanges established under the Affordable Care Act
Of course we know that the IRS will be acting as the Obamacare gestapo by making sure the law is being followed by the proletariat. This corrupt government agency has been tasked with ensuring the American people are in compliance with the law while at the same time their union moves to guarantee there is a separate set of laws for themselves, leading us to ask the obvious question; if Obamacare is so wonderful why are the Federal employees working so hard to make sure they are not enrolled in the program?
What a bunch of hypocritical bastards!

Wait, so the employees of the agency charged with enforcing obamacare don’t want to have to participate in obamacare. Makes perfect sense……

This is the EXACT type of behavior which Americans need to DEMAND and IMMEDIATE CEASE. This Marxist, socialist, totalitarianism that is defrauding the American taxpayer is an insult to our already injured economy. Ugh.

Thank you for your service! I couldn’t agree more, the Congress should have to live under the laws they pass. It is so damn frustrating!

The federal government unions will go to war when it comes to protecting union benefits but when it comes to individual members who are subjected to harassment and retaliation for doing their jobs the right way, the union officials never seem to find the time to even talk to the employees, let alone talk to their harassers. I found this out the hard way when I blew the whistle to Congress of a massive (hundreds-of-millions-of-dollars massive) fraud, waste, abuse, and gross mismanagement and cover up (by top VA officials and VAOIG) within the VA’s major construction procurement (see House VA Committee hearing on May 7, 2013 about VA’s construction delays and $1.6 BILLION cost “overrun”. To this day I still believe that AFGE had a hand in my firing. The VA official at the hearing who was asked how in the world he got himself a huge bonus for the construction screw-ups was the official who personally fired this lowly VA/CFM Contract Specialist.

Maybe they could ask to exempt themselves from paying income tax and that they be paid in gold while they are at it

Why not, Timothy Geithner didn’t think he had to pay all his taxes.

That is a good question, looks like they had another “show hearing” from which nothing will happen.
