Obamacare: Rule change will exempt the Congress from the healthcare exchanges
Back when Obamacare was being debated Chuck Grassley managed to slip language into the bill which stated that the members of the Congress and their aides had to enroll in the Obamacare exchanges.
This caught many people in the Congress by surprise because, as we know, nobody bothered to read the bill. As America’s Watchtower wrote about here, once the Congress learned they would be subjected to the law they passed leaders like John Boehner and Harry Reid began to negotiate an exemption for themselves and for their aides, claiming the exchanges were too expensive. One would naturally assume that if the exchanges were too expensive for them it would be too expensive for us as well but Washington really isn’t interested in helping the little people.
At some point Barack Obama realized, or perhaps the Congress realized, how politically damaging it would be for the Congress to pass a law exempting themselves from the exchanges so the president stepped in and announced he was working on a solution.
Today we found out what that solution is: The Office of Personnel Management will announce next week rule changes which exempt the Congress and their aides from the healthcare exchanges even though the law explicitly states they must join the exchanges. How they can change a law without passing it in the Congress is beyond me, other than the fact that this is the way the Obama regime operates.
This unelected group of people have changed the letter of the law, the Congress has gotten what it wanted without the embarrassment of voting on it before an election, and we the people still have to abide by a law the Congress doesn’t think is good enough for them.
John Edwards was right all those years ago, there are two Americas: The ruling class elite and the governed. Middle class Americans are the Kulaks in Barack Obama, Harry Reid, and John Boehner’s America and we all know how it ended for the Kulaks.

Theoretically, since Obamacare is a tax as interpreted by that asshole from outerspace Justice John Roberts, Obama is legislating tax policy which if one has the least regard in interpreting the constitution is unconstitutional. Lucky for him the republican pukes will not push back. All that is missing is the foot bath in the House so Boner can wash the messiah’s feet if he ever drops in.

The American people need to react loud and clear in protests across the country. If they do not, they will be screwed. It should be: Everyone is in or Everyone is out. Preferably out!

Sadly I do not see the outcry from the American people and I blame the MSM for this.

Too expensive for THEM? What about the pittance we are allowed to keep out of our checks after the government takes what they want? We can afford this expensive insurance AND pay their salaries on top of it?
Peter it is CHIEF Justice Roberts to us little people, he set the stage for this when it could have been shot down, just goes to show that people are bought and paid for OR blackmailed…which was he?
There used to be a process that Congress had to go thru to pass a bill or to change parts of a bill, guess Obama doesn’t want to be bothered with pesky details, huh?

Now in addition to paying our own healthcare costs were are paying for 75% of the cost of the ruling class’s healthcare costs, it is clear the only thing the Congress cares about is protecting themselves–the people be damned!

Heck, those in Congress are above the law. I thought everyone knew that! Seems like the only time those on the Hill even bother to rub elbows with us is around election time. Aside from that the members of Congress and those sitting at 1600 PA ave. are indeed, the ruling elites and as for the rest of us, we are second class citizens. We are the “Lilliputians”. Not that those on the hill think they are Gulliver, they see themselves as the Brobdingnagians. They do live in a fantasy world and as long as we allow them free reign we will continue to be second class citizens. Although I question our right to even use the word “Citizen” as we are totally unworthy of it. Perhaps we should just ban it as Seattle recently did because, after all its not inclusive.

Steve, this could probably wait until the Sunday open thread, but am thinking about it now…Dr. Zhivago just came on TMC, it is about 3 1/2 hours long, but I have mentioned it to you before to watch. It is set during the Russian Revolution and not unlike some of the things we are seeing today. It happens to have an all star cast and one hell of a soundtrack. Has to be my all time favorite movie. Of course my all time favorite song is 96 Tears, buy ? and the Mysterians, so it might be questionable. Watch it if you get the chance.
