British Parliament votes against intervening in Syria as Barack Obama prepares to go in alone
Do you remember when Democrats, such as John Kerry, promised they would make sure the United States passed a “global test” before committing United States troops to military action in sovereign nations? I do.
Apparently now that Barack Obama is president that “global test” has been thrown out the window and is no longer a requirement. The British government did something the United States government doesn’t feel necessary to do when the Parliament was called back into session to debate the bombing of Syria when it is becoming less clear if Bashar Assad actually was the one who used the chemical weapons.
Our elitists in Washington don’t seem to feel as if this issue is important enough to debate and vote on so instead of calling the Congress back for an emergency session they settled for a conference call between the leaders of the Congress. Without a vote from the full body it is clear to me that there will be no opposition to Barack Obama’s plan.
And Barack Obama’s plan is to go it alone, without the “global test” and without the approval of the United Nations. Make no mistake about it, I do not give a rat’s ass about what the United Nations approves of and what this body does not approve of, and I do not think the United States needs to seek approval from the United Nations before doing anything, but I do find it interesting that suddenly the Democrats agree with me when they spent years attacking George Bush, and his cowboy diplomacy, even though he had the support of both the Congress and the United Nations to execute the war on terror.

First of all there cannot be a debate since democrats do not do so unless it is a presidential election debate with a left wing suck up moderator. The next issue iswhether or not our strongman will play golf this weekend and if he does which tee will he give the attack order from? One has to ask if his ineptitude results in Israel’s being attacked by Syria and Iran will Hillary still get 80% of the Jewish vote? Probably, since you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.

I do think that Israel will be attacked and maybe this will finally push the Jews away from the Democrats, but I still cannot believe they voted for Obama in 2012 so I will not be surprised if they support Hillary. i don’t get it.

That was my first thought as well Steve i.e. Obama coned the voters and the media into believing he was the solution to all the worlds political problems, and that he would never use force, go around congress, or the American people. And the voters believed that international politics was no different than being a Chicago “community organizer”, and that is how he has treated this whole middle east affair. Well you are right Peterme3, His time on the golf course is just like voting “present” in the Senate.

I don’t believe anyone has “built a case” against the Syrian regime this time around. Some say it is the al Qaeda-backed rebels who are using WMDs.
Bush made the Brits gun shy but I think the Nobel Peace Prize winner is really giving them fits.

I wouldn’t be surprised to find out it was the rebels who used the weapons, at this point we don’t know. I think Obama has really embarrassed himself on this one and Putin is playing him for a fool.

Well, the only positive thing is that the emperor has indeed shown he has no clothes and it is going to be very hard for the media and his progressive friends looking the other way. A very small bit of joy in that remarkable thought. 🙂

This has exposed Obama but here is how the media will cover for him; they will claim that Obama is showing great coverage while the UK is showing they are weak compared to the president. They will use this to show how tough he is and lament the fact that the other nations lack his courage, ignoring the fact he has no real justification for attacking Syria.

With so many Muslims in the U.K. now, I’m sure the decision to back out had to have come from considering a major terrorist attack!

He seems determined to do the same thing he accused George W. Bush of. I didn’t necessarily agree with American action in Iraq, but Bush had a much stronger case against Iraq than Obama does against Syria.
I keep saying this, but this is another prime example of Obama saying one thing and doing the exact opposite.

You are right about that Larry; Bush did get the authorization from both the Congress and the UN regardless of what the left says, and now they do not feel as if they need neither.

I have to see positive proof that Assad is the guilty one here. That is really shaky grounds to be attacking on a “maybe” that he is doing what Obama says he is. We are supposed to believe Obama and his administration just because he says it is so? Where have I heard that one before! That the UK has backed out says more than Obama wants to admit. That they are doing it because THE PEOPLE have spoken, tells me that they at least have a say in the matter, unlike US. Guess he thought he was going to have backing and now that he doesn’t, what to do, what to do! I do NOT want to send our military over to fight for what? Are they protecting US? From what? I bet those in the military would love to voice their opinions out loud. We have an amateur in the White House and he is just going to start more shit, as usual. I do not want to see Israel involved, but see it as going to happen. The difference is that THEY will do what they have to do, to protect their people. I see this as a big can of worms opening up and it is going to get away from Obama…can the media cover this one up? We will see. He is way out of his league.

Your point, Cheryl? I would used the term “advisors” lightly, as I am not sure they have the background to “advise” on much of anything!!! Sad, isn’t it? People in OUR house that don’t know what the hell they are doing and WE are paying the price dearly…the rest of the world hates America. If they would only look further than the surface, they would see that WE do not all support this administration.

Terrorists have been re-categorized from “Tiresome” to “A Bloody Nuisance.” The last time the British issued a “Bloody Nuisance” warning level was in 1588, when threatened by the Spanish Armada.
The Scots have raised their threat level from “Pissed Off” to “Let’s get the Bastards.” They don’t have any other levels. This is the reason they have been used on the front line of the British army for the last 300 years.
The French government announced yesterday that it has raised its terror alert level from “Run” to “Hide.” The only two higher levels in France are “Collaborate” and “Surrender.” The rise was precipitated by a recent fire that destroyed France ‘s white flag factory, effectively paralyzing the country’s military capability.
Italy has increased the alert level from “Shout Loudly and Excitedly” to “Elaborate Military Posturing.” Two more levels remain: “Ineffective Combat Operations” and “Change Sides.”
The Germans have increased their alert state from “Disdainful Arrogance” to “Dress in Uniform and Sing Marching Songs.” They also have two higher levels: “Invade a Neighbour” and “Lose.”
Belgians, on the other hand, are all on holiday as usual; the only threat they are worried about is NATO pulling out of Brussels ..
The Spanish are all excited to see their new submarines ready to deploy. These beautifully designed subs have glass bottoms so the new Spanish navy can get a really good look at the old Spanish navy.
Australia, meanwhile, has raised its security level from “No worries” to “She’ll be right, Mate.” Two more escalation levels remain: “Crikey! I think we’ll need to cancel the barbie this weekend!” and “The barbie is cancelled.” So far no situation has ever warranted use of the last final escalation level.
