Why has Paul Ryan been silent during the continuing resolution debate?
Paul Ryan is the House Budget Committee Chairman and he has been a leader on budget issues, going so far as releasing what has been called the ‘Ryan budget.’ This is a plan that he believes will balance the budget in 10 years. He has been at the forefront of all the budget debates warning people that there is precious little time to act if we are to avoid a total collapse.
So it wouldn’t be surprising in the least if Paul Ryan had some words to say about the latest continuing resolution debate, but to date he has not been up front and center in the debate. In fact he has been silent, so where is he? That is a question that this article asks.
The article then goes on to lay out a few possibilities, including the theory he may be distancing himself from the fight in preparation for a presidential run, and while Paul Ryan claims he has been working behind the scenes many fellow Republicans seem to be wondering why he hasn’t been more involved.
But buried deep in the article linked to above is what I believe the true answer is:
Besides working behind the scenes to find a compromise on immigration, he is writing a book, titled “Where Do We Go From Here?”
Okay, the fact that he is writing a book does hint at the possibility that he is preparing a presidential run by following his former running mate by writing a book before the election, and it is troubling that he thinks writing a book is more important than working on the peoples’ business while the Congress is in session, but what is more interesting is the policy he has been working on.
He has been working behind the scenes on immigration reform, as if that is a more important issue than the budget at this point in time. But sadly, he is not alone for according to this article as many as 104 House Republicans may be open to the idea of granting amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants.
“84 House Republicans have publicly voiced support for granting some type of legal status to the 11 million immigrants here in the country illegally, and 20 others have said they would be willing to consider it—many more than what most media reports suggest.”
We were told that immigration reform was for all intents and purposes dead but as we can see here there is a secret plot by the ruling class Republicans to move forward on this issue despite the opposition of the American people.
The ruling class likes to say we need to bring these illegal immigrants out of the shadows they are hiding in, but it is clear to me that it is the House Republicans who are hiding in the shadows while working on an amnesty bill the American people do not want. And we are told they are fighting against Obamacare because the American people do not want it, so why then are they secretly looking to pass amnesty while we are distracted on the government shutdown?

I don’t know what Ryan’s excuse is but it is not acceptable!
That 11 million illegal immigrant number has been around for years. The real number is probably closer to 30 million. Is the GOP going to sell us out again? I won’t be surprised if they do; but I sure will be mad! (I tend to hold a grudge)

They know the number is much higher than 11 million but they keep throwing that number out there anyway. They are going to sell us out on this issue and they don’t even have the balls to do it in the open.

First of all I as nearly everyone I’ve spoke with on this subject strongly believes the true number of illegals in the country is closer to 30 million. This extrapolation isn’t hard to make if you here in the NY-NJ metro and suburban environs.
A city the size of Atlanta was 20.% Mexican in the late 90’s.
Been to L.A. lately?
Ryan is as opportunistic as the rest of the self serving politicians on both the right and left. He and McCain running together can garner their fair share of the illegal vote. Now if they can figure out how to get the dead vote. Early and often…early and often…

The number of illegals here now is much higher than 11 million and even the 30 million number isn’t correct because it doesn’t include the family members who will be allowed to cross the border once amnesty is granted.

Gee, we’ll need even bigger shadows for the extended families. I can’t believe I forgot about them.
P.S. The town where I grew up in NJ, the same as Bob Menendez, historically was a town of 50,000. Today it is over 70,000, about 75% Dominican. Add to that the ones uncounted in “the shadows.” Thank the Lird for big government; how else would these people be taken care of anchor baby to grave?

It is not your fault you didn’t think about the families, so much is being thrown at us that it is hard to keep up with it all. And, of course, that is exactly what the Obama regime wants.
