The US Army labels the American Family Association a hate group

October 14, 2013

According to this article the United States Army held a briefing and the soldiers who attended were informed that the American Family Association should be considered a domestic hate group along the lines of the KKK and the Westboro Baptists.  What did this organization do to draw the ire of the United States government? (For their can be no doubt that this came down from above.)

This is a Christian organization and as you can tell by the name they support traditional marriage and family values, that apparently is their crime:

Several dozen U.S. Army active duty and reserve troops were told last week that the American Family Association, a well-respected Christian ministry, should be classified as a domestic hate group because the group advocates for traditional family values.

The briefing was held at Camp Shelby in Mississippi and listed the AFA alongside domestic hate groups like the Ku Klux Klan, Neo-Nazis, the Black Panthers and the Nation of Islam.

A soldier who attended the briefing contacted me and sent me a photograph of a slide show presentation that listed AFA as a domestic hate group. Under the AFA headline is a photograph of Westboro Baptist Church preacher Fred Phelps holding a sign reading “No special law for f***.”

American Family Association has absolutely no affiliation with the controversial church group known for picketing the funerals of American service members.

This is not surprising coming from the Obama regime and in fact it is expected. This is what Barack Obama does to his political opponents; they are not merely opponents but enemies which need to be dealt with as such.

We saw early on during his presidency what Barack Obama thought of the people who had a different viewpoint than his when the Department of Homeland security released the now infamous right wing extremist report. And the rhetoric has only been ratcheted up during the government shutdown: In the last week his political opponents have been called arsonists, terrorists with bombs strapped to their chests, hostage takers, and most recently ‘teahadist’ is the term du jour.

This goes well beyond what should be considered acceptable political rhetoric because it is an attempt to  inflame the public into a rage against anyone who dares to oppose the Dear Leader, and now we are seeing the Obama regime trying to turn the Army against the American people who happen to disagree with the president.

I cannot remember a time when people being from a different political party was enough to make you an enemy of the state but that is what we are seeing with this regime. No longer is it acceptable to oppose the president’s agenda, in fact it is being criminalized and you can rest assured that the American Family Association can expect a visit from Barack Obama’s gestapo, otherwise known as the IRS.

We need to remain steady at the helm. Obama wants to destroy all that he can. My thought focus on 2014. He would just as soon have us default. Krauthammer is wrong. Obama cares not a wit that in the future he will be held accountable thus would not pause a second take us over the cliff. China will tank our dollar. It’s all so clear to me.

I agree! Obama wants a default because he wants to drive the nail in the coffin of all his political opponents.

Apparently the military should be void of religion. Every attempt is being made to purge Christianity from the ranks. There has been story after story about infringment on freedom of association in the military. This is what happened in Germany, Russia and China the state and its leader are the be all and end all. I guess this is so when the dictator tells them to fire on Americans they won’t think twice . The dictator has pushed this country to the brink and so far he is not being adequately challenged. The media defames any opposition. I think they want the debt ceiling fight so they can cause panic and then impose martial law.

I have to agree with you on the end game here, all signs are pointing to Obama wanting civil unrest so that he can move in and shut down all remaining opposition once and for all.

You have to know he is leaving no stone unturned when he even had to gin up the American Indians with this latest nonsense. Is there any group left? Gypsies?

Christianity is or was the glue that hel our culture together. Liberals know they must destroy our culture before their agenda can be totally implemented. The most important way to destroy our culture is to get rid of the glue.

Christianity and the family as well. Once our morals and family values are gone we have nothing left but government to keep us in line and that is exactly what his goal is.

I can not remember a time when a President’s opponents, both political and non-political, have been so vilified. He’s not satisfied with winning an election. Instead, he is going all out to shut up any person or group that dares to speak their mind about his agenda.

Never before has it reached this level Larry. It is almost surreal watching this happen right before our eyes, but it is all too real indeed.

Between stories like this and the decapitation of military leaders than can be no doubt that Obama is trying to destroy the military as we know it.

I’m guessing La Raza isn’t on the no-no list? how about the socialist or communist party? certain biker gangs? with the current administration I wouldn’t be surprised if membership in those not only isn’t banned, but mandatory.

If you oppose Obama you are likely on this list, if you support him you are not. And Nixon had an enemies list?

I’ve been on the list since..probably 2002 or so. meh. the way they’ve been gathering intel on everyone we may as well all be on the list. it wouldn’t surprise me if the NSA is gathering intel on obama’s buddies too…anticipating requests from future republican administrations.

It is this type of ideological crap that creates the opportunities for Islamic terrorism to occur.

Maybe these guys should convert to Islam then they’ll get a dinner at the White House?

This leads up to the not often enough asked question, does Hillary Clinton accede to the throne or does Obama with the PC feminine militant led military back him in his declaration of president for life? With the democrats capturing both houses in 2014 this is not such as remote a possibility as it may now seem. If we get Hillary in 2016 we get Chelsea in 2024 which at my age may very well mean Clintons for life. Some choice…

You’re absolutely right. I’m not a fan of the AFA but they’re not a hate group, they’re a traditional Christian group. Are some of their views hateful? Sure, I feel the same way about the views of PETA, ACLU, SEIU, and many other groups. That doesn’t make the hate groups. How sad to see our military politicized, its like I’m reading The Overton Window instead of your blog.

I can see where gay people might find their positions to be hateful, but personally I don’t think it is hateful to promote family values. They are entitled to their religious beliefs but for their beliefs they are now targeted by the Obama regime, I think we are reaching unprecedented levels here.

Frankly, I don’t even mind when the AFA talks about sin and whatnot. But when they say that the average gay man dies at 40, or that sodomy always leads to disease, or imply that most gays are pedophiles or pederast, or promote books like “The Pink Swastika” without mentioning how Ernst Rohm ended up, they cross the line. You can promote family values without using dubious studies. It’s about integrity. I can call Sarah Brady evil, but I’m not going to write “she steals” unless I see a credible story about her stealing.

O course, I defend their First Amendment rights, I won’t even call them a hate group. They’re not violent people, their members are not encouraged to engage in violence. Today people freak out over nothing, even that crazy Fred Phelps church is basically harmless. So they stand around with offensive signs? Big freaking deal. Having bottles thrown at you is far scarier than any signs. Anyway, you publish a great blog, and I was happy to reblog this story. Nice chatting with you.

Thanks for the compliment. I am with you in regards to the Westboro Baptists as well, I do not like what they stand for and I find them appalling but will always defend their first amendment rights.
