Senator Ayotte’s non-response to my email regarding her vote for cloture on the continuing resolution

October 15, 2013

Back on September the 27th I wrote this post about an email I sent to my Republican Senator Kelly Ayotte on her decision to vote for cloture on the continuing resolution.

Here is what I said to her in that email:

Senator Ayotte,

Your vote for cloture on the continuing resolution is the latest in an ever growing list of disappointments. While I am growing more disappointed with you by the day I am not surprised in the least. You were the establishment candidate while Ovide Lamontagne was the true conservative candidate and that is why I supported him in the primary instead of you, and every day you seem to prove that I was right in doing so.

I know what your excuse for the cloture vote will be: You will tell me that while you voted for cloture you still voted to defund Obamacare. But you know what a fallacy that argument is for you knew when you cast your vote for cloture that the funding would be restored, therefor you voted to restore the funding to Obamacare. You want to have it both ways and you think that the people are too stupid to see through this ruse.

I disagree with Senator Shaheen on virtually every issue but at least she is honest when she tells the people what she believes in and that is more than can be said for you. You are a liar, a phony, and a weakling. I say you are a weakling because you didn’t have the courage to take this issue all the way to a government shutdown if needs be. Do you really feel as if having the government shut down for a day or two would be the end of the world? If so I should add arrogant to the list as well.

I am looking more forward in 2016 to voting against you than I am in voting for Rand Paul for president for you have decided to put your own personal gain ahead of doing what is best for the American people and that is something that I will never forgive.

Since I sent that email I have been awaiting a response from my Senator which has never come. This is not surprising to me considering that out of all the many emails I have sent her she has only bothered to respond once, and that of course was nothing but a standard form letter.

But today when I got home from work and I checked the mailbox I was surprised to find I actually received a mailer from Senator Ayotte. My initial reaction was, could it be possible that my email actually generated a personal letter instead of a form email? However, before I even made it into the house I realized this envelope was much too thick to simply be a letter and I began to realize what it probably was.

Upon opening the envelope my suspicion was confirmed, this was not a response to my email at all. This was simply a letter telling me how great she was and how the liberals hated her. the mailer is from the ‘Friends of Kelly Ayotte’ but it included a letter from my senator. In this letter she went on to say that she won’t be bullied and she won’t back down, but she sure could use my help in the form of a donation. And it even included a nice little donation form and a return envelope.

So what is my next move when she has obviously ignored me once again? I have decided to pen a little note which will go something like this: It is obvious to me that Senator Ayotte could not be bothered to read my last email, because if she had she wouldn’t assume to garner any type of donation from such a disgruntled constituent. Because the Senator has ignored by petition of redress I am including it here as well with the hope that this may reach her desk, please do not bother me again with a request for a donation.

I will then take that note and a copy of my email, along with the mailer and the donation form and send it back to the ‘Friends of Kelly Ayotte.’ Perhaps then she will finally get the message, for the ruling class elite only care about one thing and that is money. Perhaps this will get her attention, but I doubt it. It is still worth a shot for I know not what else I can do…..

UPDATE: Here is the note I will be sending to the ‘Friends of Kelly Ayotte’ along with my original email:

At the end of September I sent Senator Ayotte an email regarding her vote on the continuing resolution but it is obvious to me that the Senator could not be bothered to read my last email, because if she had she wouldn’t assume to garner any type of donation from such a disgruntled constituent. I consider this request for a donation to be an insult.

Because the Senator has ignored my petition of redress I am including it here as well with the hope that it may finally reach her desk at some point.

Please do not bother me again with a request for a donation as Kelly Ayotte is unworthy of such a request. I can only hope and pray that she is primaried by a true conservative in 2016, and if she is not I will not be voting for her even if that means her defeat at the hands of Governor Hassan.

I cast my vote for Ovide Lamontagne in the 2010 primary and Senator Ayotte is proving to me every day that this was the right decision.

 Begrudgingly yours,

Steve Dennis

Send her an IOU for $1.00 due and payable upon a satisfactory response to your e-mail.

Seems like our Lords only remember the pesants is at election time when they want their votes. What is a $10 donation going to get you? Maybe you need to ask them for a donation quid pro quo schedule. For example if you donate $x,xxx does this get you 1 personal letter during her 6 year term.

Exactly, and she isn’t even up for reelection until 016. Looks like she is starting early.

A well thought out and moving letter. I for one, go back and forth these days. It has become clear Obama wants the destruction of the GOP at any cost. If America goes down with it, so be it, he wants that as well anyway. We are not dealing with a rational individual IMO. If we cave, the total blood of obamacare will be on his hands. When secretary Lew said he would not or could not allocate the debt, the intent was written.

Thanks. I am with you as I keep going back on forth on the issue of letting Obamacare go into full effect as well.

We had to vote for her to find out what was in her. Sounds like a recurring theme.

Sounds like a nicely worded letter to her. And for the money they are all starting to ask for, when and if they start doing what I ask them to do and will listen to me, I will send them money. Until then, I do not see, but for a handful of people there, that they have done anything for us and more than likely just what the establishment wants them to do. I am really sick of the majority of them turning into something they are NOT when it comes to being re-elected. Apparently they think we are stupid or have short memories about what we see them doing. I get tired of all the C-Span “back-patting” on air when they are voting. They know the cameras are filming that and still they are all best buddies when they are on the floor. This is what we are paying for?? Every day we read that this House or Senate have the upper hand, it is all a game to them, I assure you, it is NOT a game to me. You start to get your hopes up and “BAM”, you get smacked down again. Yep, a big GAME! I do not know what changes the majority of them once they get to DC, but something does. Maybe If they did not get the big benefits packages and life long retirement money when they “retire”, they would go there, do what we ask and leave. I am still in favor of very short term limits, but what do I know!

You nailed it Lou! This is nothing but a big game to them and the reason they are so willing to play this game is because they are exempt from the laws they pass and they are set for life once they retire, it is time to change that!

During Billy Bob’s reign I sent a letter accompanying a donation request mailer. I asked why they were petitioning a lifelong republican and how did they get my info? I included this line ” You can mess with me but don’t mess with my money.”

Probably not the best place to put this, but it is a good read about the DEBT and the DEFICIT that needs to be cleared up. There are too many scare tactics that this Administration is trying to play of voters, I guess some take him at his word. Please read if you have a few minutes!

I read your letter. Very well written. I called Ms. Ayotte’s office last week and expressed my frustration with her as well. Who knows if they even listen? I told her that Sara Palin endorsed the wrong candidate and we have proof now. Lamontagne was the better choice.. Ayotte and other’s are selling us out. I am in the process of contacting all of them all and letting them know that I will do everything I can to make sure they are tossed out. We want and expect the people we elect to do what they say they will do. Enough all ready.
