Democrats choose illegal aliens over disabled veterans again! Kill another amendment to restore military pension cuts

January 10, 2014

As our House leaders should have known when they voted for the Paul Ryan/Patty Murray budget compromise there was a provision in the bill which cut the pensions of our veterans, including those wounded in the line of duty. But of course they did not know this because once again they did not read the bill before passing it. Paul Ryan and Patty Murray pulled as fast one.

So after realizing what was in the bill Jeff Sessions tried to offer an amendment to the bill while the Senate was debating its passage which would have restored the pension cuts to our veterans and replaced the cuts by eliminating a tax loophole used by illegal aliens.  However, because the Democrats did not want to offend illegal aliens, whom they hope to someday grant the franchise, and because many of them only seem to care about our military when they can pose next to flag-draped coffins for a photo-op, the Democrats killed the amendment–effectively choosing illegal aliens over our military personal and disable veterans.

Surely they wouldn’t make the same mistake twice, would they?

Yesterday New Hampshire Senator Kelly Ayotte tried for a second time to restore the military pension cuts by eliminating the tax loophole used by illegal aliens when she offered an amendment to the unemployment extension bill currently being debated in the Senate but the amendment failed by a vote of 54-42. All Democrats but one, Joe Manchin, sided with illegal aliens while one Republican, Dean Heller, did likewise.

Once again the Democrats, and Dean Heller, found it more important to side with illegal aliens than honoring a commitment made to the men and women at the time they put their names on a blank check and made it payable up to and including their lives if needs be.

To answer my previous question: yes the Democrats would make the same mistake twice. If you can call it a mistake, I think their true colors are now on full display, but at least they have shown us once and for all which constituency group they care the most about and which one they do not give a damn about.

Think about it-tax loopholes for illegal aliens. In essence illegal alien is a non-sequitur. In Democrat jargon illegal alien=tax paying (sometimes) voter. Veteran=dumbass getting shot up for a no longer relevant idealism. The math makes the decision a no brainier: Illegals far outnumber the number of living veterans who served this country since WWII. Paraphrasing our next president “What do they matter now anyway.”

So true, and there are more and more illegals coming in every day whom the Democrats must pander to.

To coin a phrase, as Hillary would say, “What difference does it make?” Disgusting. They want to anger the military, and police. I wonder as you say, what is the motivation? Do they want to set us off? Is it a setup?

I think that is exactly what they are trying to do, they are trying to goad us into action so they can prove we are the violent radicals they have been portraying us as.

According to House Budget Committee staff, a man who enlisted at age 18 and retired at 38 as a Sergeant First Class in the Army would see approximately a 6 percent overall reduction in lifetime retirement pay because of the COLA reduction–that is, he would receive about $1. 626 million in lifetime retirement pay instead of $1.734 million.

I think there is dishonesty on both sides of this issue.

There very well could be but the fact remains that these people basically signed a contract with the people who choose to serve and now they are trying to renege on it.

This a big problem with gov reform – everyone has a sacred cow. Pension reform is an important topic. Unfortuately the Rep are unprepared to discuss this issue with its constituents in a clear thought out manner!

They really aren’t interested in discussing much with us, they would rather do what they want and then tell us it was what was best for us.

      Dishonesty? Sacred Cow?

Try LEGAL and CONSTITUTIONAL over ILLEGAL and UNCONSTITUTIONAL. This isn’t outrageous and unconscionable because of the AMOUNT of cut a veteran would have. It is choosing ILLEGAL ALIENS over our VETERANS. Our Country owes a debt to our active and retired military – WE OWN NOTHING TO ILLEGAL ALIENS.

They are ALSO choosing an UNCONSTITUTIONAL program over a CONSTITUTIONAL DUTY. Unemployment benefits? NOT CONSTITUTIONAL.

Tell you what – the government CUTS EVERY program, every cost, every policy that is NOT CONSTITUTIONAL – then we can talk about a ‘slight’ reduction in veterans benefits. I don’t think our veterans, and those who support them, (which, btw, our GOVERNMENT should be at the TOP of that list) would object.

      Disgusting and obscene.

I agree Laura! These people were given a promise when they signed up and it goes without saying that promise should be kept. We don’t see them cutting their own pensions do we? If they were truly honorable they would agree to cut their own pensions to honor the commitment they made to the troops.

I take a lot of pride in having Kelley Ayotte as my Senator from New Hampshire. I feel so sorry for the people that get to admit to having that STUPID BITCH Barbara Boxer as their Senator.

That video does a great job of showing the difference between Democrats and Republicans. Ayotte is using facts while Boxer is playing on emotions. Thanks for sharing it. I have my problems will Kelly Ayotte, but when compared to Boxer it makes you realize we could be worse of. (Think Shea-Porter, Kuster!)
