Obamacare: Target to drop healthcare coverage for part-time employees
Target has announced that the company will stop offering its part-time employees healthcare insurance and will dump them into Obamacare instead.
Target Corp. said it will end health insurance for part-time employees, joining Trader Joe’s Co., Home Depot Inc. and other retailers that have scaled back benefits in response to changes from Obamacare.
About 10 percent of Target’s part-time employees, defined as those working fewer than 30 hours a week, use the company’s health plans now, according to an announcement posted today on the Minneapolis-based company’s website. Target said it would pay $500 to part-timers losing coverage and a consulting firm will help workers sign up for new Obamacare plans.
“Health care reform is transforming the benefits landscape and affecting how all employers, including Target, administer health benefits coverage,” Jodee Kozlak, Target’s executive vice president of human resources, said in the web posting. She cited “new options available for our part-time team, and the historically low number of team members who elected to enroll in the part-time plan.”
The “new options” now available to Target’s employees is naturally Obamacare and the healthcare exchanges. Target had offered its part-time employees healthcare but why should they when the government (the taxpayers) will provide it for them?
The goal of Obamacare is, and always has been, to get as many people as possible dependent on the government for their insurance, with the end game being single-payer, government supplied healthcare coverage and it seems to be going exactly as planned.

Steve, Thanks for putting post after post up to keep the information flowing. My wife and I talk all the time about all the evil this pack of jackals constantly dumps on this nation and in typical woman fashion, asks a question that cuts to the very core of an issue. When we talked about the health care destruction of the power hungry fools, she always asks, “how could they be so stupid to believe this would work?”
This is the real problem behind all the smoke and mirrors and pretty faces on TV. It was never meant to work. Not in any shape or form. From the very beginning this thousands of pages of toilet paper was designed to implode. The Communist in Chief in the oval office could not have made America accept a socialist health care system. The wicked witch of Benghazi tried to push this through when she was prez … er.. uh… when Bill was Commie in Chief. It was rejected.
Once this nightmare fails, and even a large portion of lemmings are beginning to see that it will fail, the government will have to come to the rescue and run the whole thing. But by late next year (my guess on the beginning of the collapse, but that’s wide open) There will be too many people committed to the system to take it down and get the government to let go. Too many people already believe, truly believe that health care is a ‘right’.
Hang on to your butts, this is going to be a bumpy ride.

Thanks, I am trying my best to get everything out there but they throw so much at us that it is hard. Which is exactly what they want, they do not want us to be able to watch everything they do.
You are right about Obamacare, they never wanted it to work. It was always designed to collapse the system and send people running into the loving arms of the government and single payer.

I think you are correct that single payer has always been the end game for the administration. As for Target, perhaps Obama will blame that on the Russian hackers.

Reminds me of Target being ‘targeted by hackers’ and the profit lost because of it. Just like ‘Chicago Mob Insurance plans’ this administration forces their hand against Corporations that use ‘health insurance’ as a ‘benefit perk’ to subsidize wages. Now workers have to do Uncare and not be pay any more – unless Dems force the minimum wage increase, resulting in higher prices all around the board, to compensate for it. Lose-lose looters.
