Barack Obama eases fines on companies hiring illegal aliens

February 27, 2014

One of the positions many liberals take in the battle over illegal immigration is this: we should not punish those who come to America to seek a better life by obtaining work in the United States for they are simply doing the jobs that Americans will not do and somebody has to do these jobs. To be fair it is not only liberals who take this position, we have seen a growing number of establishment Republicans, including George Bush, take this position.

But there is a distinction between many of the Republicans and the liberals when it comes to this and that is that many liberals claim we should be going after the greedy corporations which seek to hire low wage earners instead of higher priced American workers whereas the Republicans seem to want to protect these corporations from penalty by simply focusing on the immigration aspect. This is why, in my opinion, many of the Republicans support amnesty for illegal aliens–they are in bed with their corporate masters.

I happen to believe that any immigration reform should crack down on people who enter this country illegally, regardless of how pure some of their motives might be, AND the corporations which hire them, but apparently the president does not feel the same way, even though he promised to crack down on corporations that hire illegals.

A new audit has been released by the Homeland Security’s Inspector General which finds that Barack Obama has eased the fines of corporations which hire illegal immigrants by an average of 40%.

The Obama administration regularly cuts a break for businesses that hire illegal immigrants, reducing their fines by an average of 40 percent from what they should be, according to an audit released Tuesday that suggests the government could be doing more to go after unscrupulous employers.

According to the audit, conducted by the Homeland Security Department’s inspector general, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement cut one business’s fine from $4.9 million to slightly more than $1 million — a 78 percent drop.

Investigators said the reduction is legal, but it may be undercutting the administration’s goal of getting tough on businesses that hire illegal immigrants.

“The knowledge that fines can be significantly reduced may diminish the effectiveness of fines as a deterrent to hiring unauthorized workers,” the inspector general said.

While most of the attention in the immigration debate goes to illegal immigrants themselves, analysts say the problem would be much smaller if businesses would abide by employment laws.

Under President Obama, the federal government was supposed to be putting more of an emphasis on going after employers. ICE specifically announced that it would conduct more audits of the I-9 forms all businesses are required to keep demonstrating that their employees are authorized to work in the U.S.

The goal was to try to ramp up pressure on businesses to hire legal workers.

The American worker is being sold down the river and this push for amnesty is the latest example. A portion of both parties support amnesty, albeit for different reasons, and it is because both parties are putting the priorities of their special interest groups ahead of the priorities of the American worker and at least on this one issue Barack Obama seems to be on the same page as many Republicans and their corporate masters.

GREAT JEFFERSON’S GHOST!!!!! Is there any back bone left in that seething mass of jelly fish called congress? If any one knows any conservatives running this time around, please tell them to ride issues like this hard and explain to their constituents with passion and fervor how, really how, they are going to stop this Evil Frickin Dictator. The single issue is small, but the unending flood of continuous bad acts by the Communist in Chief is a deadly serious issue.

May all those patriots past who gave of their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor forgive us for allowing an emperor to hold the reins of power of this once free nation.

No, there is basically nobody left in the Congress who is willing to challenge Obama on anything. People like Ann Coulter complain about Republicans facing primary challenges because she thinks a RINO is still better than a Democrat, well they are not and they must be removed ASAP.

And those are just the companies that fall into his lap. How many other companies don’t even receive scrutiny from this regime. Aiding and abetting, plain and simple.

Every single regulation/law that comes from an executive branch dept/agency is UNCONSTITUTIONAL. The executive branch has ZIP, ZERO, NADA, NONE, NIL, NAUGHT authority to make laws or regulations. That authority ALL belongs to the legislative branch and it CANNOT be transferred!!!! The judicial branch also has no authority to make laws. Their ‘opinions’ ARE NOT LAW!!!

Until we can correct this, our Country will continue on the path it is on. We CAN’T correct it until we STOP electing representatives who are loyal to a political party, who follow the agenda of a political party, who DON’T carry out their duty to OBEY their constituents ONLY.

Our ENTIRE federal government is ILLEGITIMATE and UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

That is all, carry on. 🙂

Other than that we are doing okay. 🙂 You are right, it is time we start electing people who are loyal to the Constitution and not the party, too many people in Washington don’t care about the usurpation of the Constitution because they are part of it and they like having power. We have to get rid of nearly all of them and start over.

Nice Laura, I wish it could be so again, but it can’t be the career politicians. The original congress and senate was made up of farmers, smiths, store owners, pup owners. I can think of more than a few bar tenders or plumbers I know who could do a vastly superior job than these spineless clowns. Besides, can you imagine a bar owner who pours whiskey and beer for bikers being intimidated by some sleazy PAC or greasy lobbyist? I would love to see a you tube clip of that encounter

So every one start calling the campaigns of those who really look conservative, the men and women who are challenging the RINOS, and encourage them to stand with back bones of steel. Even if they are not in your state. And if any one has one of these hopeful heroes in their state, help them.

The career politicians are probably the biggest danger we face because when push come to shove they will do what is best for themselves every time.

Hey Laura, I still hold with the opinion that any one of us here on this blog could and would do a better job in Congress than what we have there now. Term limits are a must, how in the hell can we continue to vote in those that have been there 20-30 years and are still doing what they have always done? Put the screws to the American people!
What this administration is doing is, of course, illegal, but who is trying to stop them but for a handful of people that our own people in Congress are turning against!?!
Now add to that the illegals that are here and coming by the droves and we have massive problems for all of us. Who is going to pay their way? US, that is who! I keep thinking in the back of my mind that when we are no longer able to “afford” them, will anything be resolved and will anyone put a stop to this? I guess the answer is probably no!

Oh…by the by, Steve…I figured it out. It was ALL MY FAULT. Somehow, my email address was changed from my primary one to a secondary one – one I never check, lol. I fixed it. Of course I have NOOOOO idea how this ‘change’ happened. Maybe the internet gremlin? Is there an internet gremlin? Anyway, I’m sure it wasn’t my fault. 😉

I am glad you got it figured out, I hadn’t had a chance to write wordpress yet. Maybe the government was involved, trying to make it harder of the opposition to communicate! 🙂

Remember, AG Holder recently told the nation’s Attorneys General that it is okay not to enforce laws that are hostile to a progressive agenda. We are becoming more and more a Banana Republic with every passing day.

I never even got to that story but it has to be the first time in history an AG encouraged states to not enforce the law! Not surprising coming from this regime.

You’ve got that right, the MSM will tell us that deportations are up and that this is a sign that Obama is tougher on illegal immigration than any other president in history, but much like everything else the media tells us, it is all propaganda.
