Open thread for Sunday, March 2nd: Life During Wartime
Here is the open thread for Sunday, March 2nd; please feel free to post links to interesting articles and to discuss whatever issues arise during the course of the day. Nothing is off-topic here.
As usual you can follow America’s Watchtower on Facebook and Twitter by clicking the links on the right. I often post links to articles I probably will not be writing about so it is a great way to keep up with what is going on in the world. You can also subscribe to receive email updates and if you do you will never miss a post again.
In case you have not noticed I have replaced the old Twitter widget with a new, fully interactive Twitter widget. This widget updates my tweets in near real time and allows you to respond to or retweet my tweets right from the blog. Is also allows you to tweet me right from America’s Watchtower. How cool is that! If you do not have a Twitter account what better reason do you need to sign up for one!?

I have a question – is Crimea Ukrainian or Russian , or is it an independent state? I heard Vitali Klitschko on BBC this morning stating very clearly that Crimea is part of Ukraine, but doesn’t Russia have a big military base there? i’m confused….can anyone enlighten me?

I had the same question. Crimea is peninsula that is part of Ukraine, but often occupied by Russia and other over the years. The population is a mix of Russians and Ukrainians like California that used to be part of Mexico, and the Mexicans want it back. Even the Tartars are involved. There was a whole war fought over Crimea, and they named it the Crimean Wars, and that one involved Turkey, France and England. What a mess

Ukraine WAS part of the USSR, but not part of Russia. Boy, the Scolder-in-Chief sure gave Putin a piece of his mind with that “strongly worded statement” didn’t he?

Obama said he had “a phone and a pen, and he isn’t afraid to use them”. If I was heading to my car in a dark parking lot and someone pulled out a phone and a pen, I would ‘Putin’ in my pants!

So, I shared on Facebook the article where the former, and as he calls himself founding member of Greenpeace says there is no proof that man is the main cause of global warming. Well, as one might expect, the comments from the left is that the article was on Fox, thus false, that he works for the oil companies, thus false, that he is in the minority, thus false. As the left says, “the science is settled”.
What I liked about my says in high school speech and debate competition was that at the end, there was a winner and looser. Now, all you get is “he said, she said”. And the MSM goes along with the left, science be damned.
From the beginning, every Religion, and leftism is a religion, have hated the heretics.

I am not surprised they attacked the source instead of debating what he said, that is all they have left at this point. Suddenly the man who co-founded Greenpeace is a shill for big oil? How did that happen?
