CIA accuses Senate staffers of illegally accessing computers, Harry Reid to authorize an investigation
Oh what a tangled web we weave…..
Last week Dianne Feinstein was up in arms, and rightfully so, over accusations that the CIA illegally hacked into Senate Intelligence Committee computers during its investigation on enhanced interrogations.
But at the same time it now appears as if some Senate aides were in possession of CIA internal documents which were not released to the Senate. The CIA has accused the aides of illegally accessing the CIA’s computers.
Harry Reid, while calling the accusations absurd, is calling for an investigation into how the staffers received these documents.
“You have alleged that Senate committee staff illicitly accessed classified CIA networks to obtain a document,” Reid said in a letter to CIA Director John Brennan dated Wednesday. “To my knowledge, the CIA has produced no evidence to support its claims that Senate committee staff who have no technical training somehow hacked into the CIA’s highly secure classified networks, an allegation that appears on its face to be patently absurd.”
If the staffers have records they were not authorized to have it is highly unlikely they were the ones who hacked into the system, although it is possible, however if they did not then somebody did. These documents did not magically appear on their desks one morning.
So now we have the Senate and the CIA apparently spying on and investigating each other and all I can say at this point is, these people all deserve each other.

Reminds me of the movie, “Enemy of the State” kind of stuff. Remember the ‘hackers’ in the van!

And, we all know if Reid’s involved what ‘assorted’ investigation that’ll be. If you do watch the movie (I thought it was quite good) you’ll see that those in the know are in hiding because of the Reid’s and Feinstein’s.
